Ok, first of all, I am not a HUGE pet lover. They're ok. My husband and oldest son (of 5 children) have long wanted a dog. Now that my youngest are starting to toddle I concieded with some stipulations. They were: 1. NO puppies. I don't have the time or energy to go through the 2 years it takes to get through the hyper destructive phase. 2. Must already be house broken 3. Had to be small to medium size due to limited space. 4. Had to prove to be tolerant of small children. (though I will not allow the dog to be picked on by the little ones) Anyhow, my brother and his fiance came across a stray corgi that met all my requirements. We took her in. She's been great.
My question...What to do about disgusting doggie habits that I cannot abide. Tonight Corgi (also her name), was dragging her bottom across my livingroom rug. :yikes: I can't have this since my babies crawl, roll, and play on this same rug. Not to mention that it's new and I'm extreemly fond of it.
What can I do to keep her from doing this? Why is she doing this? Am I just going to have to ban her from the family room (I don't want to do that if I can avoid it.)?
Please, any advice is welcome.
