I had no idea she was that small!!! She's springy though! Not sure I'd want Fred jumping off my head :yikes:

Nothing you say can convince me Dex can't fly.
Zinga looks so fit and flexible that it looks like she doesn't have any bones or is some kind doggie yoga master.

These are so cool! I love watching shots of disc dogs! I can't believe how much air they can all get!

A: So jealous of this meet up.
B: Dex and Zinga are completely awesome and get crazy amount of air
C: Zinga is so far from awkward I don't even know what you're talking about.
D: Kinda hate you RTH's for your mad action shot skills and at the same time want you to come picture my dogs.

Loved this whole thread way too much.

A: So jealous of this meet up.

Well if you'd have moved up to MN you could have been part of our little group :)
B: Dex and Zinga are completely awesome and get crazy amount of air

Yes they do and they land like cats. Pretty amazing, but you probably have a dog just like them.

C: Zinga is so far from awkward I don't even know what you're talking about.

Owners are always their own worst critics. You can tell there's been a lot of good work done there and age and maturity will mold it into an even more awesome dog given some time.

D: Kinda hate you RTH's for your mad action shot skills and at the same time want you to come picture my dogs.

If by mad action shot skills you mean being blessed with sun, a fast focusing camera and lens and the taking a few hundred pictures to cull them down to a few dozen, then thank you :) I tend to think it has more to do with luck. Plus I learned a new photography pose this weekend.

One of these days I'll be back down by Chicago again and i'd be happy to take some of your crazy dogs. We will actually be in IL this weekend going to camp with some friends of ours at Starved Rock? Never been there, they tell me it's nice :) But i think our weekend is packed already to make a detour to take some pics. I may be back down near there in August for an IPO trial. I will keep you posted.

I LOVE all of these photos!! Wow! Thanks for posting them. TIL I can harness the power of the Force, but I make no promises to use it for good. I always thought I'd look better with a red lightsaber to be honest.

As to wearing the bite suit.. that's a big maybe and only if Sara goes first.

Thanks again for hanging with us! You have awesome dogs, I can't wait to see what sort of vaulting you'll get into now that they are disc dogs too!!

I should also note that I'm impressed with myself for having a lower than normal amount of goofy faces in these pictures. Unless you were kind and just didn't post those haha

These are really cool shots!! Seriously incredible, loved them all. I'm pretty sure the person behind the camera has more than a little to do with it, I'm lucky if I even get 2 - 3 good action shots out of hundreds :D Great photos.

Also, I am seriously regretting not moving to the Minnesota/Michigan area (it was going to be one or the other)!

All of those were awesome!

Thoroughly enjoyed each photo. Zinga and Dex are definite athletes, and both so gorgeous. Makes me feel motivated to teach Duke how to play disc.

It takes a skilled photographer to master that pose.

Also, I meant to ask what lens you were shooting with?
I could tell, I felt awkward trying it out, but you just kind of fell into it naturally.

Also I just had the canon 85 mm f 1.8 shot at 2.2. It's a nice lens if you don't need a lot of zoom quick focus that really helps if you track the subject well :) rather than trees and other stuff. It's great for training pics or indoor sport pics when you can be somewhat close to the action. My dream sport lens is like a 200 f1.8, but my skills aren't 4-5K lens worthy yet.

I thought that was just you using the force again because your blurry dog was doing amazing things, you had a goofy, but blurry face, and the trees looked crystal clear. :D

Ok well it deleted the bit I was trying to quote...you are going to an IPO trial near IL area this year? Which trial? I'm trial hunting for Kastle's BH and then IPO I (we're a DVG club but I want to trial under an SV judge so I can eventually breed survey him)...

I had to check the date and found out I was really off :) I thought their trial was in August, it's in June ....oops. I better formulate a better plan for myself :D

It's the Turner Junction trial with Frank Phillips judging. He's a USA judge, I don't think he's SV though. A lot of times you'll have to find a WDA trial for those, they bring in a lot of SV judges.

Just checking thru the USA website I don't see a lot around here with SV judges, SD, NE OK. I know a few clubs never have their stuff listed too early who'll probably be having trials this fall, but since they're never planned a year ahead of time, they usually get USA judges which won't help you.

Okay, well now I'm looking at the 85mm f1.8 for Nikon!! Why does it have to be $100+ more than the Canon equivalent?

Umm...WHAT?!?!???
Yep, two years ago there was a 70% chance I would move to Ann Arbor to attend the university there (and a small chance I would move to central Minnesota). Then two or three months before the term started I made the decision to attend school locally due to a few things going on within the family. It was the responsible decision, but I won't say I don't regret it :p
