What do you guys think of rescues labeling dogs as "cocakpoos" and other designer dog names instead of "cocker spaniel/Poodle mix"??
I was just wondering because i know our shelter just names them as the actual mix they are; such as cocker/poodle mix not cockapoo. This man came in and asked if we had any "cockapoo's" I told him that we had a cocker/poodle mix. I didn't make a big deal out of it because I do want the dogs adopted, but it bugs me when people ask for "cockapoos" and "yorkiepoos" and the such.
I'm also really glad they don't name them as cockapoos. I think any rescue who does is just supporting designer breeds, which I don't like. But then again I can't help but think more people will adopt if their names are "cockapoo" and such rather then "Cocker/poodle mix".
What do you guys think?
