Verbena has now gotten demodectic mange for the third time. The first time the vet put her on amoxycillin, which she was allergic to so they switched her to ivermectin. She stayed clear for a couple of months. Then when she got it the second time, they put her back on the ivermectin, but she quit eating so they gave her an excessive dose of heartworm medications. She was clear for only a couple months more. Since this is the third time, they are suggesting a dip that costs us more than we can afford so we were looking for other alternatives. My mom said that her brother had used a mixture of bleach and water to kill some fungus off of his dog, do you think this will work for the mites as well? Or how effective will a lime sulfur dip be, since it is the cheaper alternative to the other dip? She is a little over a year old and we don't think we'll ever be over this problem so we need the cheapest thing that will work that will be the easiest on her health.
