I know Capone can't be the only one who chases who-knows-what and does other noisy, unfathomable dog things in his dreams (that ends up looking to us like a cross between a grass-rolling fest and a seizure).

But tonight, while browsing the forum, I hear Capone growling. I've *NEVER* heard him growl like this - at anything. It was pretty startling; Lips pulled back, body rigid..... it took me a minute to realize he was still asleep, and then I had a hard time waking him up. (I did so *carefully*) ;) Now I feel like a tool for getting so wound up.

So, I'm curious about two things: who else gives a poo about this stuff and wakes their dog when they sound like that ...... and...... where in the hell could his nutty head have been? Hearing my big goof make that kind of racket is laughable. He's such a wuss.

My borzoi does that too. The only time he has ever howled was in his sleep. He was chasing something, then his legs went rigid, he threw his head back and hooooowwwlled. It was chilling, like a full blown wolf howl.

Izzy barks more in her sleep than she ever has awake... Seriously, she doesn't bark anywhere but the dogpark and in her sleep so if I hear her making noise I know she's snoozing. She snores too!

Sometimes I would have to wake Buster up when I'm trying to sleep and he's twitching and carrying on and not letting me fall asleep lol. But usually he's fine. I used to wake Sophie up sometimes because some of her drreams really make her look like she's seizuring and sometimes I worry that what if she was and I just ignored her.

Buster does this thing when he's dreaming, he yips like a puppy and then does this really deep growl, then yips again, then growls. lol its the funniest thing to watch.

Victor had screaming nightmares for the first year or so. SInce we sleep together i would just pull him close and sing his song to him until he relaxed. Mary pretty much has happy tail thumping seeing somebody she loves dreams..but once in a while she growls. I do not wake her up.

Rosey moves her legs, wags her tail, barks and growls in her sleep. Honestly, it all depends on how annoying it is whether I wake her up or not. If it is not too bad, and doesn't seem bad at all, I will clap and say her name, doesn't wake her up totally but enough so she stops.

Gonzo yelps when he sleeps... it's heart breaking! ;(

Fozzie grunts and nurses. It's hilarious to watch. I'm sure he was an AVID nurser as a puppy, and he had his Mom all to himself! haha

I'm so glad my dogs don't howl or growl in their sleep. I would be very startled.
