I have reported the swing that this thread has taken to the moderators in charge.... It is so far from the original topic that there is no reason to continue. So i fold too.

How is it less of an ordeal?

For starters, male castration is over and done with in a few minutes, and is non invasive and heals quickly.

Female spaying - yes, more invasive, but once it's done, it's done. Healing for a week or so and then back to normal.

Cropping - general anesthetic, in terms of how far the scalpel has to travel - a huge area of cut, a huge area to scar.

Then WEEKS of aftercare, it is a part of the body that will be knocked often. Taped up - risk of infections..

It just isn't even comparable.. Like going in for gall stones, or breast implants.
Nope, wrong. Approxiamately 10 days for the sutures to stay on, then after that they are taped. they are NOT taped for medical reasons, just for the ears to stand up, naturally.

This boils down to! I crop because I happen to like the look you spay/neuter because you are to **** lazy to watch your dog when it is outside or live with other intact dogs. I say you as a generalizing not meaning anyone specific.

Plain and simple whether ppl want to admit it or not.
Crop and dock because you like the look but don't sit here and compare this surgery to having a dog spay/neutered...

Don't try to force feed everyone into believing that cropping/docking is done for human convience...the sole reason cropping/docking was done in the first place for job purposes...whether that be docking a tail to prevent injuries to the hunting dog running through the field or to make working dog look more indimidating by cropping its ears....

Today cropping and docking is done more for looks than anything...and if someone prefers the look of their breed cropped and docked that is their decision, in the same token if someone likes these breeds but does not agree with cropping and docking then it is their right to choose to elect not to have the surgery done.

Calling someone lazy because they choose to s/n is the most juevenile thing I have ever heard and it does nothing for your argument.

Yes ears are healed just as fast as a spay there is no real after care that you wouldnt do with natural ears other than tapping.

Wow. I agree, that's about enough of that. Seems some people can't debate reasonably.
