1. Are we surprised?
2. Do we care?

I wonder why he's coming out? From the sound of the interview, it seems like he's sick and tired about being asked by the public. I never understood that. Does it really matter what a celeb's orientation is? It's ridiculous! People need to find other things to worry about.

Random: I'd love to see Monty Python's Spamalot on Broadway. Looks neat!

I personally don't care about his orientation. I actually thought he was out already.

I've never asked about his sexual orientation, lol.
I did ask myself "wonder what his friend said when he asked her to carry his baby"...that was probably an interesting convo LOL.

He has always given me the heebie jeebies...something about him has always seemed off, and it's got nothing to do with who or what he sleeps with.

eta: he's like what would happen if Barry Manilow and Sandy Duncan hadda baby...that's probably why he freaks me out.

Wait I thought this was along the same lines of 'does a bear **** in the woods?'

Very few people have ever seen the actual act, but it's pretty much understood.

I don't know about you... but after he made that song "invisible" the heebie jeebies were a permanent factor for me when talking about Clay Aiken.

He has a great voice but I'm sorry... when you sing a song with the words "If I was invisible... if I could just watch you in your room" Yeah... THATS SO WRONG

Yeah, he always creeped me out too. Just something about him.

And yeah, I already knew he was gay. WHO CARES!

I could care less about his gayness. If he wants to go romp around with another man his his bed go ahead, Lindsay Lohan does the same thing. I don't like his music never have. IMO he is pretty hacky looking. Thank goodness it was an ugly guy who is gay instead of a hot one. I don't know if I could look at a guy the same way thinking he was hot if he was gay. haha!

Who could look at this Lindsay Lohan complete lookalike or see him at any time on TV and not know he was gay?

The only issue I have with him is NOT owning up to it from the beginning.

Otherwise, who cares? ;)

I don't know anything about the guy...but I don't think he owes us anything. If he didn't "own up" to being gay so what?

I don't think he or anyone else walking around out there owes us a solid statement on their sexual preference...nor do they need to answer questions about it.

Very true. We don't demand that people own up to being straight, why should it matter for the opposite?

Silly people and their need for simplistic ordering...

I'd say the biggest reason it was an issue for him to come out is because he was a teacher in his former life . . . you know how well THAT would go over. And now . . . how many of his former students' parents are going to be looking for a way to say he interacted with their child in an "inappropriate" manner - now that he's a deep pocket?

But yah, Clay Aiken, out of the closet . . . I guess the one in the closet is always the last to know :rofl1:

And, for the record, he's always creeped me out and his voice, to me, is the male (sorta) equivalent of Mariah Carey . . . nails on a chalkboard.
