I can't count the number of times people have raised a poll checking favourite breeds - yes there will be list of pedigree dogs first, but invariably people will end up saying - 'all dogs'. I've not met one person on here who doesn't love mutts. IMO without Chaz the net would not be the same, and a lot of dogs would have missed out on having more dog educated owners - and that's far more important than the odd disagreement.

It is my personal opinion, borne out by my treatment here at Chaz, that what comes around, goes around. If your posts are honest, yet sensitive, as I try for my posts to be, no one will slam you. I think there is room for disagreement, we do not all think alike, as long as one posts in an open and respectful manner.
I think that is also true all over the internet. Yes there are trolls now and then but the mods generally take care of those issues. For regular posters, I think that from time to time one may have disagreements but no slaps as long as you communicate honestly and with one eye on the welfare of your dog and the other eye respecting the viewpoints of others.

I've bbeen on 6 or 7 dog lists including this one with the same amount of different oppinions. I love muts and purebreds. Doesn't matter to me. I love dogs. THey all have unique personallities and no two dogs are the same, like no people arte exactly the same.

I love this forum because we're allowed to debate and say what we want. MOST of us can debate calmly. Even if it gets a little heated, it seems that the truly well intentioned agree to disagree and make up. The ones who come here to make trouble continue to make trouble and make this site look bad.

I know that xxxpoo or john doe iii or whoever you are, is not here anymore, but that little comment about mutts is so untrue. I have never seen anyone get snubbed for having a mutt...actually there are probably more mutt owners on here than purebred ownders. The people here simply care about dogs, no matter what they are.

I have been on a forum where everything is so regulated that people might as well not talk...We're lucky.

Mutt lover, I too have had a few unpleasant experiences with this forum. I think it is because there is a lot of traffic at this site, and some people do not take into consideration the tone of their posts and they don't take the time to post in a constructive manner. (and they plain just tell their opinion/mind). Although I don't agree with their approach, I welcome the open forum to give your opinions.

But, for the most part I have been happy here, and I continue to enjoy all of the information I read. I hope you stick around and give them another chance.

PEACE to all! :)

This place welcomes new members with a slap in the face (only if they have a mixed breed)
I disagree with you here. We love muts just as much as purebreds. Muts really rock, just like purebreds. And both muts and purebreds rule. Even though not all of us have muts (I don't, maybe when I'm older, though). Muts rule too. No one has said anything otherwise that I've seen. That's a great thing about Chazhound. Every dog regardless of whether they are purebred or mixes are accepted.

From what I see here, no one puts down Mutts .... only breeding them. I've never seen a post when someone comes in with a cute dog and are bashed. Yes, when it's a cross and it's given a "title" rather than a breed/breed name.. we're apt to try to educate. And when folks want to breed their whatever to whatever because they think it would be a cute pup .

I agree with most of the posts above...xxxxpppooo, you are a fraud! Bottom line, and don't think we didn't check you out. As for the original poster, don't leave, we all have our moments, but hang in there! You WILL get what you need when the time comes, we are there for you..

I think for the most part this is a nice site. I have been on nicer, but I have been on much, much worse. I have Labradoodles and despite the common consensus about such `designer breeds' on Chaz, no one has ever, ever once given me a hard time about getting Labradoodles. Everyone has been super helpful and very nice, and like others have said, I do sometimes shake my head at what some people post, but hey, you don't have to read it if you don't like it, and if it's personally directed at you, you have the opportunity here to speak up and say something about it. That's pretty cool.

I love Chazhound! I have made many really good pals through Chaz! People really care about you here, and it's not all just placating and sympathetic noises! If you aren't seen for a while people will email and message to make sure you are ok! Now that has got to count for something huh!!
If you put thousands of people in a room you are bound to get alittle friction, and that is basically what this is!

I do feel from time to time it is all taken a little too seriously, i'm not talking about health or welfare issues, just the general chat. But then again maybe i'm just a frivolous person?! After all it is supposed to be fun, if not it just becomes a chore!!

I still think Chaz is top dog of the forum world though! ;)

I, for one, don’t wish to chance a “slap” in the “face”.
Why ever not?????? That builds character! :D You'll live. Dog forums are fun, educational and there's a lot of comradarie among people who love dogs.... and so what if our egos get a little wounded sometimes. Most of us get over it.

Scob....BTW...I love your avatar...had to snatch it and save it in my pictures. LOL.

You've totally misunderstood what people here are trying to say. There is NO ONE on this forum that doesn't like mutts. I mean no one. I can't think of anyone ever making that comment on these forums. We all love dogs. Period.

The thing we don't like is backyard breeders and puppy mills that create more dogs that don't have much chance at a good life..

Saje ... right on target .... 100% agree with you

I was ran off from this forum by the attacks. I still check in on occasions and chuckle at the training comments. It's a one-sided, opinionated forum and I found that it wasn't worth the added stress to be here.

Sorry to hear that you got ran off of here. I'm sure that the forum has changed since you got ran off. You could give it another chance if you wanted too.

I tend to agree to some extent.

But, I come to this forum not only for dog advice but for advice from adults that I dont have access to in person. This being a forum, you can simply choose to block certain users or you ignore threads that have the potential to ruin your mood.

CC you know how you came across when you started posting here. Your way is not the only method. Nobody ran you off. People were just upfront about your credentials and methods.
