My God people.... What the heck is everybody so upset about? What has changed, other than better performance?

I am sure this has already been said, but I want to pile on. Where does this sense of entitlement come from? You brats need to chill. Until you have to PAY for this forum, the owner will need to do what is necessary to keep it running. Its called THE REAL WORLD.

Here is the way I see it. Ask yourself if YOU had just purchased Chazhound, how YOU would like all this negativity BEFORE you had even made one single change?

He or Chaz either one didn't have to tell ANY of us squat. Not a single word. Would you have known it changed hands if they didn't tell you? No, you would not. It was out of courtesy that MT told you anything.

Do you want him to be around, post, be part of them forum and accessible? Or would you rather he just change what he wants to change from behind the curtain and not listen to any of your ideas/complaints.

I for one would rather he take our ideas and concerns into consideration. If we prefer (after trial) something one way instead of another I would like him to be able to communicate and let us contribute to the way we want the forum.

My suggestion? Sit back and see what he changes. If it is something we don't like AFTER we've tried it out then we can tell him politely and see what goes down.

If he refuses to listen to an organized, POLITE, and constructive criticism, I will be right there with the rest of the group wanting to know why :)

BWUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA . . . .

And I, for one, shall be merciless in reminding you of the day you agreed with Puck ;)

Now, wait'll Puck sees it :D

You know, this may be a sign of the impending end of the world - at least as we know it. :p

I think that that will be up to us ;)

Think about it, the last thing a new site owner - who has undoubtedly made a significant investment in a site that is as active and growing as this one - wants is to do anything to kill the momentum.

There was less drama on Eastenders over xmas than there is here with these prophecies of impending doom.

If any of you know Eastenders, you will fully understand the impact of that statement.

Ok this is not in any way about MT.

But I would like to point out that chaz is a community. When you sell a community in a way you sell the membership. That means us, our posts and our potential future posts (same way as any business.. you sell clients too. People when buying a successful business or forum are assuming that most of the people will stay with the forum or business)

To say my feeling of pride and 'belonging' (or entitlement) is childish, or to call me a brat is extremely rude. This is how I feel. This is not some knee jerk reaction on my part, this is a well thought on opinion. I don't care that you don't agree (obviously) but to resort to name calling kind of defeats your point.

Yes its his forum and he can do what he likes. So what has changed? Chazhound has always been able to do what he wants. I don't really see how that impacts this thread. We never had to tip toe around Chazhound why would we not treat MT any different ;)

I am glad someone bought chaz. I don't really care who runs it as long as it stays a great forum. But I do feel pride in this community, I do feel I belong, and I do feel I am entitled in a small way. There are many many many dog forums out there. This one, IMO, is the best. What makes it the best is the unhindered free speech and the people that attracts. Yep some people are rude (and that includes Puck and Dizzy ;) ) But again.. so what? Name calling and rudeness can be seen from just about every member that I can remember at some point and time. Why should this thread be any different than any other thread people feel strongly about?

Personally I think MT will make a good 'leader' for Chaz. If nothing else this thread shows the vast personalities here and no one has been told off by the powers that be.

Dekka,

A few years ago, my Hub and I received a letter in the mail, our m
ortgage had been sold to another bank. We were not informed before hand, we were not offered the right to purchase it, nothing, nada, thats life.

Chaz being sold or to whom isn't any of our business. Nothing like watching people p*ss in their own waterbowls, but the problem is that waterbowl also happens to mine as well along with the rest of the members.

Puck said it best :hail::hail:

I don't see anyone pissing. I just see people doing what they always do... being honest and open.

A bank is not a community how many people have an emotional attachment to their banks? Banks are not known for 'caring' about those they serve... And its on a totally different scale. I bet you could have found out the bank was for sale (if its a publicly traded company) but not many people on earth would be in the position to buy it.

Comparing chaz to a large corporation is not a fair comparison. Heck even banks have less autocracy than the owner of chaz does :) So he is 'more' free to do what he likes. It would be like selling an old age home, or a sports team something that people feel like the belong too.

Belittling peoples concerns is not cool either.

Dekka, I think you're forgetting we're all in the same boat, it's not an 'us vs them'. Or a 'we're more concerned than you are' competition.

Everyone comes on here for their own reasons and have their own thoughts/feelings on the place, you speak of community, well, like it or lump it, people like me are part of it too, and just like you, we're voiving our opinion, not belittling peoples feelings.

If anything personally I was concerned for the feelings of the person who bought the place.

Nothing like doing a good deed and having it thrown back in your face....

That is a 2 way street, ADO.

I do not have to have chazhound.com in the address line on my screen in order to meet up with and chat with other dog people.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this forum. However, should the heretofore pissy attitude of Meaty Treats, and the very recent similiar attitude of some of the prominent mods on this board, continue to progress, I will not be visiting or posting as often as I might have until now.

People participate here on a voluntary basis.

Buyers of this forum might be wise to realize and appreciate this.

You missed my point then. All along I have been saying there is no 'us' and 'them'. All along I am saying we are a community. All of us. Of course that includes you.. and I am glad it does :D I hope EVERY member stays.

You missed my other key point. Your opinion is no more valid than anyone else's. So belittling people's concerns is not cool. Yes disagree, yes say that you think everything will be sunshine and roses.. I personally wouldn't call you names for stating your opinion.

LOL I said in a PM to Renee a while ago that "We (chaz) embrace our collective weirdness" I love weird and find normal boring!! So I don't want to see the loss of anyone in our community.

(I dont' see a 'good deed' (tho it is nice and it might be) I have been told numerous times it was a business dealing. So who is jumping to concussions now?)

Yah, I can be provoked. Sometimes I get more irritated than any of you will ever know with the pettiness and sniping and the ugly "what have you done for me lately" attitude that crops up from time to time. Thankfully, those things are out of character for the most part and don't last. I expect a lot from you guys - most of the time you don't disappoint me.

I'm also, more often than any of you know, the last one standing between you and some of the other mods who aren't nearly as laid back as I. But even I have limits, especially when I'm getting hammered from both sides.

Again, THANK YOU, Dekka.

By good deed I mean the talk of bringing new things to the forum.

Even I could pick up enthusiasm in that post. Like santa bringing pressies, only for the child to take one look and discard it for their blankie.

You don't know if you'll like something till you try it, but people are digging their heels in shaking their heads before anything has even been mentioned.

I have been part of a forum which changed drastically, and I felt EXACTLY the same way... no no it's fine as it is. It wasn't till changes happened, that I realised that was a stupid attitude to have.

And that forum is nothing like chaz, not even remotely the same.

The people make chaz, and I think if things change that the majority don't like it will be better to have a GOOD working relationship with the new owner, so we can speak up and he will listen.

Instead of having his back up already and feeling unwelcome.

It wasn't the fact that people had concerns, what the problem turned out to be was the rudeness and complete disrespect for the new owner of Chaz. And that was very clear throughout the thread.

And btw, the hockey team that we support was sold last year, never heard a ripple about......................

You all need to look to the Cleveland Browns to see how real fan's react to a sale LOL. I don't think this new owner is Art Modell...nor do I think a contract need be placed on them...LOL. I am willing to wait and see so long as the creme filled cookies are not hidden at the end of some maze or somesuch.

I'm over the initial shock, still mourning the fact that Chaz is no longer the owner. But I do welcome MT as the new owner and hope he gets to see how great it is here. Time will ease things.

The fact that he's keeping low and this thread is still going and not locked says a lot to me.
