I'm thinking my puppy fever should be good and cured for the next decade or so after this! It's taken me this long to move past Juno's puppyhood... she probably wasn't even really that bad... lol.

Congrats! So excited to see which one you get! Baby ACD puppies are adorable.

I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that I "know better" these days... I'm afraid I might try too hard or something
I'm kind of feeling the same way. With Watson I was mostly concerned with potty training and getting simple behaviors, and now I know more and want to do more and I'm probably freaking myself out.

And FG167, you guys and your adorable GSD puppies! Stahp! You guys are also very brave. I'm panicked about getting one puppy with my one pretty laid back adult dog. I can't imagine that many IPO dogs in one place.
The IPO dogs we have are just as easy as the trouble making Corgi and the obnoxious Kelpie ;) Seriously, you just get used to it. I've had anywhere from 4-11 dogs in my house for the last...9 years (?). I don't know any other way.

Although I haven't said anything to a single other person so look how cool you guys are.

OMG I feel lucky to know - HOW EXCITING!!!

ACD. :) I feel like I'm going out of my comfort zone a little bit (I don't even know what my comfort zone is really??) but I just keep coming back to them.
That specific puppy pictured is not necessarily mine, I'm getting a male of which he is 1 out of 3, so 33.3333% chance he's mine. :p
What kind of male are you asking for (looks/drives etc)? Where is he coming from?? I have a secret (not so secret?) love of ACD but cannot convince myself they would be a good fit, and will probably stick with Kelpies forever. What a cutie!!

Ok, maybe I should have said that having that many dogs that aren't old and really lazy would overwhelm me, whether they were IPO or herding or sporting dogs. I've never had more than two, and when I did have two they were both the easiest dogs ever. I'm a little freaked out about adding a second right now!

You know, it's funny, but your comment in the other thread about dogs with a lot of bone being better for confo but not agility was actually really relevant. My pup was structurally pretty similar to her sister, but her sister had way better bone and was stockier. The breeder admitted that she would have picked the pup with better bone, but that the pup I picked had the much better temperament for sports. The other girl completely ignored us during temperament testing and was too independent.

Unfortunately the puppy with my favorite temperament also had structural faults :-( Whoever gets her will be very lucky. She is just so handler oriented already. Though she probably would've hated living with Watson's rambunctiousness.

I just got the shi*t starter. Apparently she was the only one who tried to gnaw on the cabinets in the vet's office yesterday. Haha. I think I'll have my hands full.
Sounds like a bundle of fun :D better start puppy-proofing immediately haha

I find two to be the BEST number and so super fun - I bet you'll have a blast and no troubles :D Once you cross the threshold of 3...it seems like it all is downhill from there LOL

I'm really terrible at describing what I want hahah, overall I think I'm looking for something similar to Elrohwen - sport prospect, confident, outgoing, engaged, good food/toy drive. So maybe I should have went somewhere breeding more towards these specifics, however I just went for working farm dogs instead. :p

I was really leaning toward going the rescue route if I saw the right dog. We're definitely not as saturated with cattle dogs in this area though like others probably are.
But there's the issue that I'd probably have to just find a humane society that doesn't do any screening because I highly doubt any rescue org would adopt to me.

And puppy. My baby puppy want is too strong.

That's what I did. My ID wasn't even correct and they didn't care. Didn't verify a thing. Gave them $60 and walked out with hank.

Temp drop to 98.3 this morning. Come on Carm..
Woohoo! Carmy puppy watch is on!

Sounds like a bundle of fun :D better start puppy-proofing immediately haha
I don't think we ever un-puppy proofed from Watson. Haha. But then he never chewed on furniture or anything. As long as we kept shoes and clothes and things picked up he was fine (and we still pick those things up, because he will steal them). I have a feeling this one will not be that easy.

Oh god, my husband would kill me. He's on board for this puppy, but I think he's told me a million times already that two is absolutely our limit.

Also, if anybody wants a 5 month old Welshie boy puppy with lots of energy, one just became available. He's being returned to his breeder for being too high energy and too much to handle :( I haven't met him but his parents are awesome dogs.

3 was my absolute limit not long ago...
Husband is not a crazy dog person, so I don't think he's going to change his mind. Maybe if Watson is super old and slow, but then he will probably say that we can't get a puppy because it would annoy the old dogs.

But who knows! I think he was against getting 2 a year ago, but when I brought it up he was on board pretty quick.

LOL DH keeps telling me we are at our limit....and then we aren't. We both "need" (not really NEED but want very badly) a prospect for the sports we are in and the retired dogs aren't going anywhere so...Thus we have our solid base of retired dogs and then the puppies that we hope will work out!

ETA: and Limit, who is somewhat older than puppy but there's still "hope" with the training hahahaha :D
