Both my dogs love their Canidae so much that I can actually use it in place of training treats if I'm out.

Their coats are both beauiful too, and no loose stools.

I think I will eventually put Pearl on raw, my aunt has a raw dog food business and once she starts back up from her move, she will sell it to me for her at a rediculiously low price already in patties and ingred. added.... so for Pearl I think thats the best bet since we are already having a alergy problem pop up.

But for the other three I def. what a good dry kibble, that doesnt cost me a arm or a leg, and they like. And after research I really think Canidae will be the food to try, but I will def. try others have mentioned if this doesnt do it for us. Just wanted some pros and cons of those who feed it, or fed it, or have heard good/bad things .

:lol-sign:

Why is Innova regular or California Natural better quality than Canidae? After all, Innova adult does contain barley.
It's not so much "quality" for me, personally I trust the Natura Co. more than some of the others after the food recalls ;) . I recently after a long time of being a skeptic made the switch to raw and won't ever look back at kibble again. But, if I did for some reason had to go back it would be the EVO or any other grain free kibble. And like Acoop said, I never said Canidae wasn't a good kibble it just didn't have great results for my dog :) .
Sunnier, Timberwolf ships for free and has a grain free food. Caiza did well on the TWO lamb and apple and it smelled incredible LOL! You may want to try that for Pearl and even your other babies.http://timberwolforganics.com/

I think Innova has more meat and less rice overall that california natural and canidae.

I wouldn't go with the chicken and rice formula personally, but with the other one. I just hate the idea of giving my dog something that has 'rice' in the title :p I used the regular formula for a bit but the dogs preferred Innova so I switched back.

Have you tried EVO? It's more expensive, but I just switched and my dogs love it. And there's no grain.

You've tried Innova, but have you tried EVO? There's a huge difference in the foods and the effects they have on coats, stool, weight etc. IMO. I obviously wouldn't feed it to Pearl at this point, but for Spider and Naughty and Kodak, I think it'd be worth a try. If shipping wasn't so darn expensive I'd send you a bag to try out, but it'd probably be cheaper to buy 2-3 bags than it would be for USPS to deliver it to you

Oh yes. If I said Innova in my earlier post I ment EVO. Huge difference between Innova and Innova EVO.

I just went out and bought Canidae for my new rescue GP. Darcy seems to really like it and she is a picky eater. Plus I like that it's healthy AND not breaking the bank.
