Hi I have a question for all of you who have ever had sisters with breeding in mind, if they both pass and you want to breed from them, what do you do? As they will prob come into season at the same time, i will pick one to breed from and them the other will be bred from in her next heat so i dont have two litters to cope with, is this what you do? and how would you chose who has the first litter?

My boss has littermates. They were bred at the same time and whelped at the same frame. It was tough but thats how they do it.They have a whelping room set up with a few whelping pens in the dining room. Its a pretty good set up.That way you can socialize all puppies at once.

i would prefer one litter at a time, they are from large litters, and its poss that i could have 16 pups or more to care for, i like them to be in the house, so i only want one litter at a time so they can have all the care and attention that i can give

If that is so, I think you already knwo the answer to your question.;) You probably shouldn't breed two bitches at once if you do not think yo can handle it.:) ;)

Yes i know it will only be one at a time, its not a question of handlinging it, but i raised all my pups at home and not in kennels so they get used to home life, and its hard to give 8 all the attention they need as well as showing and careing for the others, as well as having a family to look after, but what i cant decide is who will have the first litter

Lol so far Candy comes to mind first, because she has been here the whole time and seems more mature and is in better condition, but in a year and a bit that could change I guess it will also depend on how well they do at shows, I may only have one that is show quality, but at the mo they have a great shape to them so i have my fingers crossed
