Sorry, this is a repeat post.. I tried to edit my last one and for some reason it duplicated it?? Now it won't let me delete this one.

Sometimes I think about getting a Norwegian buhund. Maybe one day! I have only met one (I used to groom him) and I LOVED him, he had such a great temeprament. I'd have to meet some more before deciding.

My husband really wants to get something that looks similar to a husky or malamute when we move (but larger than the buhund). I'm really not a Northern breed fan, but if he must, I'd probably like to get a Canadian Eskimo dog. I love the ones I meet at shows; Very primal looking.

And lastly, I would really like to get something for my daughter to compete with. Something smaller and easier than one of my Belgians that she can do junior handling and obedience and agility, rally, etc with. A dog that more "just her's" than one of my Belgians. I'll probably end up getting her something from a breeder; A retired dog that already has some show and obedience training. Maybe a cocker spaniel? I'm not really sure, I haven't thought alot about it yet, she has a few years to go.

ETA: I forgot we'll be getting great pyrenees when we move and have livestock.

I will always own at least one Cane Corso they have stolen my heart but will have a pet of a few other breeds some day I am sure. Would love to have a Harlequin Dane, Boerboel, Bordeaux, Dogo, Crested and a few others that catch my eye occasionally :)

Have owned in the past, grew up with labs, owned rotties and now am owned by my corsi :)

Honestly, every animal I ever have will be a shelter pet. I can't say, "My next dog will be..." because I won't know until I go to the shelter and one steals my heart.

So despite my love for Whippets, I've more or less decided on a (probably male) German Shepherd for the next dog, after Eve retires. No idea on the lines I would go with, it's a very long time in the future, but I'm quite certain that I would match better with a herding breed as a service dog than a dog like a Lab or a Golden.

They embody everything I love about my border collie - biddability, intelligence and devotion, without the nervous energy, tendency towards anxiety, and the intensity that unsettles some people and other dogs. GSDs seem to have enough of a head on their shoulders that they can think things through the way Eve does, too.

I really, really, really want an Aussie to be my next breed of dog. :D I've been around several lately, so add that to all that I've learned and fallen in love with on chaz, and I'm sold :p LOL Probably a rescue ;)

That being said, I will always have a cocker. They are just "my" breed. But since Maddie is going to live forever, there's no problem with that ;)

I've decided 100% my next will be my border collie. Finally. I'm getting to a point in my life where a third is possible in the not too far off future. Having Ada has made me really actually want a third (only one that fits me better than she does). So I'm hoping to wait till december/january then start really looking. It may come out to being more like starting looking next summer, I'm not sure. Dog #3 will be the last till Summer is gone so I might as well go with the dog I really want.

I probably won't have another dog for anywhere from 4-7 years from now :/

But, having said that, the dogs that I would buy from a breeder are:

Australian Koolie
English Shepherd
Flat Coat Retriever
English Springer Spaniel
Cocker Spaniel

Most likely those won't happen for a while, and there will be many rescue dogs in between. Spaniels will always have my heart, but I love the retriever goofyness, the English Shepherd seriousness, and the Koolie's Travelerness :p

I really cannot wait! I've already got a great lead with a BC person around here. I'm pretty much thinking it'll be a rescue though but I hope I can use this next year to research research research. ;)

The wait is going to kill me though! There's a BC boy at the texas rescue I want soooo bad.
