Honestly, he looks like a beagle who had a severe skin issue or was just born without hair. His face and head are all beagle IMO

i dont think he is a mix. there is a term for dogs that are born without hair on certin parts of the body. and yes, the skin is healthy.

I would SO adopt that dog! I've always loved the odd ones. He looks like a sweetie despite his odd appearance. And that mottled skin does look typical of a Chinese crested.

Heehee, if anyone asked what breed he was, I'd say he's not a dog. I'd call him a tame chupacabra.

Agreed. His fur is way too patched and jagged at the edges, and as weird as genetics can be, I don't think mixing the two would result on odd hair patterns like that. I doubt there is any CC in him at all.

I thought the hairless gene in the Chinese Crested was a recessive one therefore both parents must carry the gene & the offspring must show the recessive gene. Hence why some Cresteds have hair & some done.

However, I could be wrong as this is certainly not my breed.

But I don't see how this truly is. 1. I think two things: he's got some sort of serious disorder that they are making light of or 2. they just shaved him like that for shits & giggles.

i actually really do think he could be both.. I saw a chi/pom mix, head exactly of a pomeranian body exactly of a chihuahua. I feel bad for him, i hope he finds a home. And i dont think hes ugly at all
