Has anyone mentioned Tom Petty yet? He's been going for a long time, so lots of people could have grown up to his stuff. Went to his concert not too long ago, and it was ******* awsome. Young and old, all rockin, great show I highly recomend it.

I grew up with the boy bands, but I would have loved to grow up with the classic rock. I LOVE classic rock.

I have to say I much prefer what EliN grew up with, too, lol. I listen to a lot of that stuff now anyway. When I was younger I remember it was the Backstreet Boys, Nsync, 98 Degrees, Christina Aguilara, Britney Spears, Aqua, and more I can't think of right now.
Yup. I listened to all of that and stumbled across some of my old CDs last month. Horror of horrors . . . :yikes:

I do believe my first "album" that i bought with my babysitting money was Alice Cooper. There were the Kinks too, and DAvid Bowie, and heavy metal sigh..but i also liked Leon REdbone, and harry Chapin.

Let's see...New Kids on the Block

Green Day
Nirvana
Salt n Pepa (loved them)

Not bands, but I guess singers:

Mariah Carey
Paula Abduhl
MC Hammer
Vanilla Ice

Some of those were when I was just getting into music...9 or 10 I think.

In my teenage years I listened to LL Cool J, Tone Loc, Tupac, Warren G, bass cd's to use with the "system" and then country, :lol-sign:

I really " grew up " when EliN, her sister and bro were playing all those when house rang with them .( I HATED heavy metal ) LOL! In my day it was Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey etc ...we really went more by the songs than the bands . I really can't remember who played our Be-Bop songs ! I've still got my collect of 68s (?) and my crank up Victor Victrola !!

Beatles, Beach Boys, Four Seasons, Johnny Cash, Righteous Brothers, Rolling Stones, Mamas&Papas, Moody Blues, Martha and the Vandellas, Carol King, Peter, Paul & Mary, the Monkees, the Kinks, Herman's Hermits, Fifth Dimension, Dave Clark Five, Petula Clark, The Turtles, Santana, Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf.

Bubbatd: I like big band, too; mostly Glenn Miller and I really like Artie Shaw and the Gramercy Five. We're having a band for Mom's 75th b-day celebration and they'll be playing big band music all night - there'll be lots of jitterbugging going on! Lol!
