No Theresa today so maybe Babe is ready to make a grand entrance into the world?
Ok, so California had an earthquake at ~ 4 a.m. that day. I was already up because of a routine trip to the bathroom a few minutes earlier.. Living in California for so long, I knew it was an earthquake from the very beginning, and immediately woke up my husband. I had no ideas why I told him "Honey, wake up, there's an earthquake. Maybe it'll also wake up our baby". Little did I know, I was right!
By the time we were up at ~ 6:00 a.m., the constractions were already intense & steady at ~5 min interval! I took a shower & we headed to the hospital.
By 8:00 a.m., I was 4cm dilated.. and by noon, I was fully dilated. However, the baby did not "dropped" yet.
By 6:45 p.m., after breaking my water & coaching me through some pushing to see if we can get the baby to drop.. my doctor felt that it was taking too long & did not progress as he's hoped, specially after the baby's heartrates dropped, which meant that he might be distressed.. he decided that a C-section was the safest way to deliver my baby at that time.
By 7:05 p.m, baby KATARINA MARIE NGUYEN made her grand entrance into the world!
By 7:30 p.m., I had her in my arms & the rest was history.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts, well wishes & supports, specially your prayers. They're truly what gave me strength & preservance to finally achive my dream of being a parent!.
Katie & I are both doing fine. We just came home this morning, so while I had tons of pictures, I hasn't have time to do anything with them yet. I promise I won't take too long before I can share her with all of you.
Thanks!
Theresa
