Chiming in late, but I find myself really happy that there are those of you are virgins and are not ashamed of it. When I was in high school that's all everyone was about and it was considered "cool" to sleep with every boyfriend you ever had, so I can't imagine what it's like now. There is NOTHING wrong with being a virgin and waiting for the right man to come along. I admire you very few who are waiting that for one true love...

As for me, my one and only has been my husband. ;)

I was either 12 or 13. Part of me wishes I had waited. I was a stupid kid and made some hasty decisions.

Add me to the list of people whose virginity seems to be growing back.

so just saw this thread but I am so excited to see a virgin club I had to post. I am 20 and also a virgin. I along with some of you have not had a boyfriend, gone on one date in my life and never been kissed. I just haven't had the time for a boyfriend yet, working, school and animals keep me crazy. but a part of me definetly wants one, and I do wonder whats wrong with me that I haven't had one yet...

This might be TMI, but its true none the less. At that age I didnt even know where my vagina was, even after my health classes... I knew it was down there somewhere, lol. It wasn't until 15 that I started wearing tampons. I would fail at even attempting to have sex at that age. I will say that I messed around with another girl at that age .

There are some things I regret such as certain guys I had sex with... guys who pressured me into it, but I have grown not to care anymore. I took some good lessons away from things that happened in my past.

Reggin, I didn't even start my period until I was 14. I was about as naive and clueless as they came.

You are so my daughter, Grace . . . spectacularly, frighteningly so . . .

I was 13. It wasn't a big deal; it was something I wanted to go ahead and get out of the way. I don't regret it - but I don't recommend it, either. There aren't many out there with the same mindset I had - and have.

ROFL! Welcome to the club! I saw this thread up here and wondered why Alex started another. :p

We're talking about sex - not pregnancy. If you want to have sex without worrying about getting pregnant use birth control, and preferably double up on different methods.

Darn it that was a typo. I was 16 when I started using tampons. Almost a year after I started my period. You can take health classes and stuff and still be a bit clueless. lol.

I was 8 when I started. I was terrified that I had a kidney infection (one of my mom's favorite diagnosis  ) and hid it because I'd rather have died than gone back to be poked and prodded and humiliated by the doctor again . . . talk about clueless :rofl1:

I got mine when I was 12 and was entirely too curious and precocious of a reader before that. I knew more about the scientific mechanics of it by 12 than a lot people do at 20. :p Boy was I looked at funny when I could answer all the questions in health class.

I don't think I got mine 'til I was... 17? 18? I think I was a junior in high school at the time.
:yikes:

That's so late. Most of the women I know had theirs when they were 10-14, and usually on the early side of that.

Lucky duck. I could totally have gone another 5-6 years without my period.

And I consider that to be a little early. I heard that studies have found that girls are starting their periods earlier and earlier. Why? Because child obesity is becoming more rampant. Young children are getting a layer of fat in areas that women would get AFTER puberty, and it affects certain hormones. Quite interesting.

I'm pretty sure it IS early - it doesn't feel right to me, starting that young. =/ I'm just saying that it sppears to be the norm now.

I doubt it's due to weight, though, I looked nearly emaciated for years as a kid. ALL the girls I know, thin, fat, in between.. you name it... had their periods around that age. I definitely think it's something else.

I don't know... the more I think about it, the more I'm glad I started when I did (I think I was 11 or 12). If I had started high school and STILL hadn't started my period, I'd be a paranoid wreck every single day and knowing my luck it would probably happen at the most embarrassing time. At least in 6th grade it was still cool to tie your sweatshirt around your waist lol, that would at least cover anything up if you weren't prepared :p

But that's just me. The period doesn't bother me... it's the darn cramps that like to come along with it.

I know. Definitely not complaining! I didn't exactly miss it those previous years, lol.
