I hope the vet will explain everything when we go to pick her up.

I know they're sending us home with oral meds, and I'm assuming they had her eat to make sure she could keep food down.

So glad to hear she's doing better!! :) Give her a hug for me.

Ya know, sometimes giardia doesn't show up when they test for it.

Yep. And that would definitely explain all her symptoms, poor little baby :(

I am very glad to hear she is doing great, now you just have to STOP watching the clock until it gets to 8pm, LOL

We are about to eat dinner and then we're going. Yay!

She held down food so far, but she's lethargic which I guess is understandable.

WE'RE HOME!

Emma came home with her catheter in, and we're going back to the vet tomorrow at 6pm to either get oral meds to bring home or hook her back up to an IV.

So, basically, if she can continue to hold food down without vomiting, she gets oral meds tomorrow night.

Here she is with her snazzy purple bandage:

Me too! She's one of the CUTEST chihuahuas I've ever seen. That's exactly the type of chi Id want to have (if I could ever talk Steven into a tiny dog, lol)

Awwww :( give her huggles from me. Sending food-keeping-down vibes.

Did they have any idea what was going on?

Still no vomiting. She's peeing a good bit, which makes sense because of all the fluids.

No diarrhea either, and she hasn't pooped at all yet.

She's on SD a/d canned food for the day at least, and she's eagerly eating.

Hopefully tonight the catheter can come out and she'll be put on oral meds.

Weeee! It sounds like she's on the mend. I wonder if it wasn't a virus of some sort or bacterial thing. Anyhow, I bet she'll continue to get stronger. Good luck.

So glad to hear that she's doing better, it's so scary when they get sick, especially whey they are so small.

I had to go without a pc for 4 days, and I miss everything. Reading through the thread was frightening with a really happy ending.

She's doing much better now. She's almost back to her crazy, energetic self.

She finally pooped... lol. She was sooo stopped up because of all the IV meds... and she had solid poops TWICE this morning :) I never thought I'd be so happy about poop!
