...that you will never own another. I've heard many people say ''this breed is the breed for me and I'll never own another breed.''

I've always found this a strange. I want to experience as many different breeds that I can handle. I've own mutts(family dogs) and never a purebreed but when I get my life together I will start owning some purebreeds.:D

So what about you. Do you love your breed so much that you doubt you'll own another?

Nope not this person. I have always wanted a GSD and had never even thought about getting any other breed, until I started going to a local shelter and met my girl a coonhound. I am willing to try different breeds, but will have to research them before I decide which one I will get next.

I will definitely own other breeds, but only if I'm in a position where I can have multiple dogs, because I will ALWAYS have a boxer. It would just be weird for me to not have one, I've grown up around them so they're kinda special to me.

Nope. I know I'll always have a Toller in my life, but there are a few more breeds that I'd like to have as well. If it came down to me only being allowed to have one dog at a time though, I'd stick with Tollers only.

I did feel this way about Goldens , but mainly because I always want one of my line .... but when I lost Chip , I was open minded ..... but "happened "to put Golden in petfinder and up popped Ollie .......So I do have a 1/2 Golden !! ( Hard to change after 60 years ! )

No. I really, truly, adore some breeds, but I can't imagine falling so completely and totally in love with one breed that I would only want dogs of that breed...

I will always have my Jrts, can't imagine life without them. Plus I always want to have Jrts from my own lines. And because I wont place my older retired dogs to make room for newbies, breeding is limited and really doesn't allow any room for another dog of a different breed. All my guys live in the house and sleep in our beds. But if I were to get another breed, it would probably be a BC from strict working lines. Ah then I would have to get a bunch of sheep......and I would have to work that BC and compete with it in herding trials and agility..........lol my hub would have a heart attack if he knew this :yikes: Or a Mal, really like them too, but again I would have to work them.........French Ring Sport looks really cool and of course agility...:yikes: Yeah I wonder if anyone has ever Titled a Mal in FRS and AG concurrently?? hmmmm challenges thats cool and tempting.
lol I think I just confirmed myself as a die hard working person that loves high drives.......

I'm a die-hard Aussie person but I'm also wanting a couple dogs of different breeds. But if push came to shove, yes I would only have Aussies.

No. I love, love, LOVE Border Collies and if I *had* to own one breed forever, that'd be it.

I will always have at least one BC in my life, but there are other breeds I look forward to owning as well.

I'm so in love with Dobermans that I will alwyas hae at least one - but there will be other breeds in the mix at times as well.

But the Dobermans will always be #1 in my heart. No other breed will ever come close IMO. I love my corgi, but (and I hate to say this) not as much as I love my dobes. It's comparing apples to oranges.

Mixed breeds are my preferance, or at least rescues.

Only pure-bred dog I'm really looking forward to owning in the future is a Leonberger. Such awesome dogs!

I used to say I will always have APBT and I doubt I will own any for awhile jsut because I cannot imagine having one where I live but when i live in the country again I will always have 1 or 2 or 3. But I will always haveanother dog besides the APBT.

I also would want to own a fila and really with Walker anatolians have taken my heart completely. He may be a pain but his personality is just perfect and its not the coonhound part of it either.

I'll always have a boston terrier. I just love their personalities so much, but I'm very open to having some other breeds also. Probably not another min pin though, lol!

I love my Border Collies but I would never turn up my nose at any other breed. Look at my little girl Miley. She's a little mutt and I adore her dearly. I also love Shelties, Rottis, Pitties, Aussies, Australian Cattle Dogs, Corgis.... and the list goes on.

If I do own another breed, it will only be if I have enough time and space to dedicate to the new dog and not detract from my APBTs. They are my main breed.

No way. There are too many breeds that I would love to own. The pit bull is my fave so far, and I will always own one. No doubt about that.

I know a few people that will only own one breed. My mom is a pug person. My aunt has owned dachshunds for YEARS.

I like to have a variety.

I would say that if I can only own one dog then YES it would be a doberman. I have lived with several different breeds and several 'mutts' as well so it's not like I don't know what I am missing.

I see nothing wrong with knowing your taste and lifestyle and finding the "breed" that fits right into your life, then sticking to it. Between friends, family, neighbors and even at parks, you can ALWAYS enjoy visiting with other dogs :)
