Poor thing, this is ridiculous. This is the 7th or 8th dog we've had dropped off here since we've lived here. This area gets LOTS of drop offs, it's very remote, and they think because it's a church, someone will have the heart to take it in. Well thankfully we do, otherwise these poor babies would starve out here!
Someone dropped a basset hound/beagle mix (looks like to me, anyway) here almost a week ago. At first I thought maybe he was just passing through, but he's been laying at our doorstep every morning when we take Chloe out, so I'm pretty sure someone dropped him. It's the same every time. The poor little guy.
He's ADORABLE, and I wish I could keep him myself, but I've found someone who's willing to take him and work with him, and give him a forever home if I can CATCH HIM. He's very sweet, but very scared. I haven't been able to touch him at all, but he will come very close, but then dart away. I've tried to feed him from my hand, but he'll come really close, smell my hand, but won't come closer than 5ft or so. We started feeding him last night when we realized he was a stray or drop off (doubtfully a stray/lost dog (although I posted a found dog ad on craigslist), there aren't many houses out here he could've wandered from).
Anyway, here are some photos of him. Gorgeous dog, and such sweet eyes! Chloe loves him, and wants to play with him, but he's scared to death of her, and runs off when I take her out to use the bathroom (at least he's not aggressive towards her).
