After 8 hard months of work, in freezing cold barns& rainy parks, my brown Border Collie& I finally had some success where it counts- a trial! The trial was outdoors, with miserable weather. It rained about 60mm Saturday& another 15 on Sunday ..awesome! I guess Briar is a mud dog I suppose he is used to grimy barns, crappy outdoor weather& rain. Makes sense it would bother him significantly less than it seems to bother me.
We had 4 runs& we Q'd with first places in 3/4! We got 2 Gamblers Qs& our first Jumpers. We SHOULD have had snooker but Briar went through the weaves (like, cut across them when he was heading to the last jump to Q ..seriously, Briar?!). It was a happy weekend& we managed to get all of one photo -but it's a good one! Here's Briar& I ..tired& cold but happy with three Q ribbons He is really maturing now that he's almost 3. His focus was always there, but it seems like in the last month or so, he's actually taking direction much better than before.
Oh, and in a Penny-brag, she was a superstar traveler! We happened met another Vizsla named Kwest who is a champion everything, and is from the same breeder but off different lines. That brings my grand total of three Vizslas (not including Penn) I've met from my breeder. Kwest is running his first agility competition in August ..I'm running him! I am painfully excited already. Have to represent the Vizsla love
Here she is with me, Kwest& Kwest's owner, who is absolutely one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met! You can see a serious size difference between the male& female. Penny doesn't look nearly as much like a 'stereotypical' Vizsla as this guy ..I think it's because she's SO lean.
Sorry about my novel of a post
