After 8 hard months of work, in freezing cold barns& rainy parks, my brown Border Collie& I finally had some success where it counts- a trial! The trial was outdoors, with miserable weather. It rained about 60mm Saturday& another 15 on Sunday ..awesome! I guess Briar is a mud dog ;) I suppose he is used to grimy barns, crappy outdoor weather& rain. Makes sense it would bother him significantly less than it seems to bother me.

We had 4 runs& we Q'd with first places in 3/4! We got 2 Gamblers Qs& our first Jumpers. We SHOULD have had snooker but Briar went through the weaves (like, cut across them when he was heading to the last jump to Q ..seriously, Briar?!). It was a happy weekend& we managed to get all of one photo -but it's a good one! Here's Briar& I ..tired& cold but happy with three Q ribbons :) He is really maturing now that he's almost 3. His focus was always there, but it seems like in the last month or so, he's actually taking direction much better than before.

Oh, and in a Penny-brag, she was a superstar traveler! We happened met another Vizsla named Kwest who is a champion everything, and is from the same breeder but off different lines. That brings my grand total of three Vizslas (not including Penn) I've met from my breeder. Kwest is running his first agility competition in August ..I'm running him! I am painfully excited already. Have to represent the Vizsla love ;)

Here she is with me, Kwest& Kwest's owner, who is absolutely one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met! You can see a serious size difference between the male& female. Penny doesn't look nearly as much like a 'stereotypical' Vizsla as this guy ..I think it's because she's SO lean.

Sorry about my novel of a post ;)

Congratulations!! It sounds like was hard earned and well deserved!

Also, rain is gross. But I love those two pictures, especially the one with you and Briar. You need to post more!

Thanks, ladies!
In fairness, I don't own Briar. I just compete with him ..his owner is an older man who had knee replacements so can't do competitions but trained him. I've only been running B since I around when Penny, so about 8 months!

I do need to make a point to post more photos ..I'm so busy enjoying the dogs& I find taking my camera along makes me less present in the moment. Have to make a point to photograph them both more often. And yes, the rain WAS gross!

Hey! So neat :) This competition was actually in NB ..we were in Irishtown for a F.A.M.E event ..don't know if you know the group or not? We'll have to make a point to meet up at an event!

Thanks everyone ..it really meant a lot to finally have my efforts be rewarded :)

I know FAME quite well, actually! I love their trials and that location! So does Psyche! She's gotten most of her Q's there, actually.

I don't compete much anymore but will have to try and plan a day trip out sometime, or if I get back into competing!

I THIIINK I recognize the woman in the second picture with you. I don't know if I would have seen you around at trials or not? But I don't recognize you right off.

ETA: Yes, I think I DO know you!

HUGE congrats! We just had our first trial in the rain last weekend - it was definitely NOT fun. Well, it wasn't fun for me... Kimma and the puppies (I brought them along to spectate/work a bit) had a blast in the mud and wet grass :p

Linda trains out of that club I'm almost sure.. we are new on the scenem this was our first NB trial but we've done 3 fun runs at the barn in Sackville& another trial in Kingston, NS just last month! I'll let you know the next time I'm heading towards NB (which I'm pretty sure isn't until August)!

And Penny& Briar definitely had more fun in the rain than we did!! We should have taken some dirty dog photos ahaha
