I did not mean that a child who is adopted has no chance of being abused, of course they do, every child does.

Polls show that roughly 70 percent of Americans believe that abortion should be legal. Yet 75 percent (which obviously requires substantial overlap) also believe it is immoral. There is clearly a tension in our hearts between what should be legal and what is actually moral.
Legality is a social more; morality a series of personal decisions and the two concepts are often mutally exclusive.

The overlap can be explained, perhaps, by a significant number who find imposing their personal values on others to be ethically repugnant.

Saje you said that it was much harder to place a baby with a birth defect, but it isnt. Those with handicaps: There is a long waiting list for Downs Syndrome babies. There is a national organization of parents of Spina Bifida babies. At this writing, over 100 couples are on the waiting list to adopt such a baby, no matter how severe their problem.

- AIDS babies are a special group. These children need care, and almost all will die. Still, there are homes for them.

The special needs chilren do not get adopted the same. Not only did my grandma foster a few for years but people would bring them back and forth all the time. Even the babys were never actually adopted. The people who take the handicapped in some way babys are generally the group home settings. I heard from a girl that I go to college with that were she came from in new york babys are often taken and placed in foster care were they are in a group setting. Who would want that for a child? Someeon may and thats their choice I guess.

rottie girl that is definately a biased site. If that is the stuff you are reading then no wonder you see it the way you do

Ok. I meant she doesn't stay on topic, and keeps posting links to sites that aren't imo credible in this debate.

zoom mentioned brain dead people

Terri Shiavo and other brain dead patients should not be on life support, you need to let nature take its course.

http://www.abortionfacts.com/life_or_choice/pro_choice.asp this site has everything and anything that you want to know about abortion, from a pro-life and pro-choice point of veiw.
That is a very biased website with very outdated information. Also, using statistics such as "15% of men are sterile, so we won't count those" are skewed. It's my guess that the sterilized guys aren't the ones going out committing most of the rapes. Also, since when does martial rape not count as rape? I thought we got passed those days.

well i believe that if the person wrote it in a will then that is their word but other wise if they didnt they want what god has for them... and youre right they dont get to chose people chose for them and tha tis wrong... if they havent said to hold their life then they should be let go... however a child doesnt get that chance
