Ok, I know this is gona get a little heated. So if it becomes a problem feel free to delete it. But truth be told, debating is one of my passions and I really never do get a chance to put in a good well thought out argument. So if you don't think you can voice your opinion and stay civil please don't post. Thanks.

My personal opinion is pro choice.
i think you should have the right to choose whether you have to devote your life to a child. I have a friend that is almost 6 months pregnant (she is 15!) she decided to keep it but it made me think. WHAT IF SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENED TO ME!?!?!?!?
I don't want kids, I want a career and I know that kids will make that much more stressful.

What choice does the unborn have then?

Ok, i should have mentioned. I believe you should be able to abort to a certain age. like within the first month. But the thing is, what is the point in keeping a child you are forced to if you cant/wont lok after it. That happens with puppies, they are put down. People just get put in orphaneges. I think we could end up doing a lot worse if u illegalise it is all.

I think its wrong. Here is how i see it, folks, dont jump on me.

People say its a womans body and that she should have the right to do as she pleases. I agree.....to an extent. If you are going to have sex, you should take the right measures to prevent the pregnancy from ever occuring! A life is being formed inside of you. A REAL person, forming. Its murder to kill it, no matter what age. Now, on the other hand, if a woman was raped and it happenned unintentionally for her, than I think she should have the option to abort the child, because she couldnt do anything about it. Its irresponsible to take a chance of developing a baby just because so and so didnt want to wear a condom.

In that case, we should spay/ neuter our friends.

Although, it's a woman's body- it's not like she's the only one that made it happen. It should be both the husband and the wife's choice.

What if you were potentially killed? Someone great could've been killed, what if he was the next Einstein? Although I feel that every and all life is equal. I don't care if he would've been a bum on the street- anyone and everyone deserves a shot at life. Why not give him to an orphanage? He could potentially go into a great home and if not, well, at least he's alive.

In the US there are people waiting years to adopt, some even adopting from other country's, those kids need adopting too. If you cant afford to raise or dont want to raise, addoption.

That too is Pro-choice.

Didnt say it wasnt. But if someone is gonna be having sex, they should use common sense to prevent an unwanted child.

There are people out there who are willing to pay all the medical bills of the mother just to adopt an unwanted child, maybe the media should get that message out.

Have any of you guys read the wrapping on a condom? They are not 100% effective, what if a couple take precations and still get pregnant?

I've read a story about a recovering heroin addict who got pregnant (not on purpose). Should they be forced to keep the baby, even though they're taking methadone? What type of life will that child have, with those chemicals being pumped into its developing body.

I am pro-abortion, but I do think it can go to far, people dont take precautions and just think "oh well I can have an abortion" they dont fully consider what they are doing, and they also dont have to deal with the responsibilities of their actions. We are a throw away society. And thats wrong.

People who are anti-abortion, do u disagree with the moring after pill too? Surely thats the same thing?

I was on birth control pills both times I got pregnant, hmmm but I would never ever give up my two kids and neither would Marc. Abortion was never an option and we were married first too! No sex until marriage, that was my rule, yes I stuck with it and I was not popular with the boys at all! Lets put it this way I am 31 years old on Set 28 I will have been married 4 years.

Also after the birth of Megan I got clipped because a baby a year is just too much for us. If the time comes we want another baby or we can afford another chid we will adopt.

In the end this long baha means I disagree with abortion unless
1] the girl is raped. not her fault in anyway then
2]the girl has some sort of serious health issue that will cause serious problems with her or the baby or result in one or the others death.

I see no other reasons right now but it is 6am and I should be sleeping but my 4 legged baby decided it was time for me to get up!

I am pro abortion. Mistakes happen, and not all birth control is 100%. I know a few girls who have gotten pregnant on the pill, many with condoms, diaprahm etc. Some girls get pregnant very easily it seems :)
It's a women's choice, you take a choice by taking precautions as well...perhaps every time you stop a pregnancy from happening you are potentially killing another Albert Einstein. In some religions taking birth control is not allowed due to moral reasons...
Every women should be allowed to choose, I have seen many children who are living a horrible life with mothers who have screamed at them "I wish you had never been born". I have talked to girls who in front of their children have said they resented the child and wished they hadn't listened to people and had aborted. Yes, we could put all these children up for adoption...but, then the system would be over flowing.
This is my own personal opinion and my beliefs.

everyone at school told me to get rid of aAron when i found out i was pg..said no one finished this school pg..i didn't either..said i could have children later..everone but one person..that was my mom..she said i was a good mother and she always hoped i would have one more..i knew no matter what that this baby and i would be good..true..i didn't grad..had to drop 2 months from graduation because of a truck accident..but i dont care...i couldn't and wouldn't give him up..at the same time..what if i was a woman alone with several children already that i couldnt feed..knew that if i did carry this one it might kill me..and then leave these alone..my grandmother was told if she had one more baby it would kill her and back then no one was going to make my horrible grandfather wear a condom so he didn't. She had to have one after another legal abortion..until she just couldn't take it anymore and had my uncle David. He had a lot of problems at birth and died early...how about taking the proper control of the situation..using the proper methods..and if there is an accident..how about the day after pill..if not..then let that baby have a chance at life and carry it to term..give it up for adoption. there are plenty of good people out there waiting for years to have a child to love..there are very few women out there that do go thru with an abortion that don't regret it later. i am still prochoice..but ...just that but................there has to be a better way.
one fact for all young women to remember..the time when your defenses are down..when you are most likely to take a "risk" is when you are ovulating. We are still mammals no matter how far we think we are away from the "natural world" that is why so many get pg the first time.

That falls under my first exception
1]the girl is raped--not her fault, sexual abuse or rape is not the womens fault!

I feel more sorry that you suffered the abuse then the aboration, you made the right choice for you. The aboration was probably a tragidy for you all in its self, a very difficult decision and a brave one at that.
