I'd be calling the police and an attourney. That is a crime and he should pay for more than vet bills. I'm so sorry.

I spoke to the OPP and best advice was to have him pay for all vet and training related bills. Also have a restraining order filed against him. He is really sore tonight, I think he will need his meds at bedtime. Poor pup.

I am absolutely dumfounded. Just found this thread. This guy is a Jeffrey Dahlmer in the making. I really hope you get a restraining order. Your poor pup. I hope lots of lovin' from Mamma's oven will help him over this traumatic experience. Unfortunately, being so young and so vulnerable to what shapes his life, he might be tainted forever. I surely hope not.

I am so mad I dont know what to say.If someone came into my home and hurt my dog They would not be leaving alive.I cant believe this happened to my surrogate boy Yukon.Heather I am so sorry this happened to your baby. This will take some time to heal. Please call and report him though,if he did this to your dog just imagine what he does to his dogs.He needs to have his dogs go into a good caring home.

I did call the Ottawa Humane Society and they said well it is not our area to cover. The animal control says call the OHS so round and round we go. He is apparently selling all of his dogs and getting out anyway because no one wants his dogs anymore, they are too nerotic.

Anyone who would hit someone elses animals has really got to be doing bad stuff to his own. I just cant imagine how I would go off if someone hit my pup. I hope Yukon saw you plow this bozo. How is Yukon acting around you now?

He was submissive peeing everywhere. Now he will let me pet him, cowers at first but no peeing. Go to snap the leash on and he squirts everywhere. Poor pup, I bet his leg hurts too and he is being a brave boy, no complaining. He has a nasty limp though.

You are right it is like beating one of my kids because he is just that. One of my kids, he is the little brother to the human girl babies.

That is unconscionable. Get that restraining order. It's something that will be on his record and if he's ever convicted of a crime it will be used for sentencing enhancement, especially if he gets popped for something like domestic assault.

Now, on to little Yukon . . . He's had too many traumas that revolve around a crate now. I think you're going to have to try to go it without the crate, or at least without the door on it if he's ever going to forget about this episode. Make him a safe corner with a new bed and let that be his safe place. And no one uses a loud voice around him. Work on little things to rebuild his confidence; review his simple lessons that he's already got down pat, like sit and down - but make sure it isn't hurting his sore muscles.

You might also try the Bach's Flower Remedies. There are a couple that are very good for anxiety and fear in dogs. I can't remember the names right off, but it should be on most websites that offer the Bach's Remedies. That will be a start . . .

Oh my...I just found this thread and I can't believe that someone would come into your home and hit poor Yukon. I'm terribly sorry and I really hope that he can overcome this obstacle and continue doing a great job in his training.

My thoughts are with you, and remember, "In order to get the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain."

What in the world went through this guy's head to make him think it would be ok if he did something like this?! I'm glad you broke his nose, and at the risk of being vindictive, I hope it never heals right so every time he looks in the mirror he will think "I got that by being a stupid [insert choice expletive]."
