I've honestly never paid any attention to what the rabies tag looks like--lol. Without checking I think they might be orange?

On a positive rabies tag note, I did reunite a loose pit bull that was running through traffic by calling the vet's office listed on her tag and getting the owner's address.

I honestly don't mind them? Right now Bailey has the green bell thing and Buzz has an (expired) blue flower. Bailey only wears her Boomerang CollarTag. Buzz has his rabies tag behind his fetching tag... I don't really have a reason for it, since it's expired anyways?!

The only one I've really disliked though is the green bell Bailey has, it's really effing huge!

The blue flower must be the industry standard this year - Talla got her rabies tag yesterday, and it too was of the ugly blue flower variety.

I put their rabies tags on separate Rubits. They hardly ever wear them.

Yah, Roseys not registered with the city, either LOL it used to be ridiculously expensive to register an intact botch, and I wouldn't spay her because of that, so we never did it... and now its just habit :p

Rosey actually wears her rabies tag... I think its a red rectangle this year here. Or a circle. I forget. She mainly wears it because it has the vets phone number on it, plus her getmehome number, so its just another precaution should she be lost.

Yes, yes it is. Some clinics do different tags, but for the most part they all do the same ones in the same rotation. That way you can tell at a glance if they're up to date. In theory.

Which doesn't really make sense anymore, since most people have switched to 3 year vaccines. (Though it's neat that we all have to suffer with the blue flower together!)

Buster has that one. It actually fits him. He has also had a red heart and a green bell one when he was younger. And oh God the gold oval thing is ugly lol that my past dogs have had. Right now Buster has the same one as Merlin but it's more tealish colored than blue. Rudy & Dixie both have silver hearts. When we got Rudy neutered in 2008 and he got his rabies too he got the mushroom/house shaped one that is so ugly lol.

Yeah, it's sort of an outdated system. But my city makes you get a new tag and license every year, even though rabies is every 3 years. Kind of annoying.

My dogs have boring silver circles, huge but god knows where they are. I bought new tags for the drive from Vegas to Oregon and we use tags that say reward when traveling but otherwise my dogs remain mostly naked and definitely tag less.

I have no idea where my dogs' rabies tags are. They're freaking huge for my dogs' size. They've never worn them.

Oh man, looks like Rylie will be getting that one :(. The edges are always so sharp too.

I keep mine taped to the sheet of paper from the vet, and then I put it in their file box. I should probably get them each a rubit for them, but no one actually enforces tag wear.

I have to admit I didn't realize so many had a distaste for rabies tags. lol They don't bother me, I forget they are even there most the time.

Moses used to get his put on his collar, but now he doesn't. They just sit in a drawer, same with Cali's... although I'm going to put her fetching tag on her new harness when it arrives.

As for town registrations, I don't even think they hand out tags... they just write up a piece of paper and write it into their database. I doubt half of the people around here register their dogs but considering I'm honestly the only person around here who regularly walks their dogs, it's not surprising.

Glad to see we aren't the only ones that got the blue flower this year. It is an eyesore, and I don't understand why they can't just use a color/shape that isn't as annoying as a bright blue flower. But I'm probably just being too picky now.

exactly my thoughts! My poor hounds have to suffer whatever the tags look like. Maybe that is why Baxter is so moody...he doesn't like the tag design? :p

I notice tags - they drive me nuts! :)

Tag noises are one of my peeves - and I'm not going to use those bulky tag bags either. Jayne and Kaylee have hanging FTs, but they make no noise so I tolerate them. As soon as they start to make noise, they'll be gone.

Speaking of rabies, I gotta get Jackson his updated rabies shot, like, soon. Ugh... always hate doing it. Really wish it was every 5 years, I'd feel so much more comfortable doing it.

ETA: I just checked his files and he's not due until May. Yay I have some time, lol.

Frag still has another year, I'm so happy about that!
