So my husband has been dying for a new TV. We finally got rid of a major financial burden and decide to celebrate and splurge on the TV. I guess it's a $7k TV that he got from a company selling them on ebay for $5k. So today the freight company is finally bringing it for delivery. I wait at home all day long and finally he shows up around 5:30pm. He brings it in and I check the box for any serious damage, then ask him about the tip sensor. This thing is supposed to tell me if the box has been tipped farther than it should have been. Well he tells me that while he was moving it the moving straps ripped the sensor off. Okay, so I mark on the delivery sheet that the sensor was missing and shortly after he goes on his way.

The box itself was in pretty good shape, so I didn't open it while he was there. BIG mistake. Turns out this jackass completely lied to me. On closer inspection of where the tip sensor should have been.. I see box cutter marks! The guy has no reason to cut it off unless he tipped it, so I had to completely unpack this huge thing by myself. Yeah. The glass is completely broken. I called the shipping company and they're sending me a claims form, and I have to wait 5 business days to even find out what they're going to do about it. I am so pissed right now.

Kevin tends to keep cool about these things, it's sort of MY job to deal with the crap and that's ok 'cause I DO deal with jerks better than he does anyway!

Good luck, I hope you can get it straightened out asap!!

I'm am so beyond ticked off at this point. I'd kick the stupid thing if I didn't know that would only make things worse. I'm sure it'll get resolved.. But I just don't get why things can't ever be easy :/

I wish my husband had been here for the delivery. I'm just too trusting. I should have opened the box while the driver was here after he told me the sensor was gone.. But I just believed him that it fell off. I already told my husband (he's in Ca for a few days) and he's not mad at me.. But ugh, I'm just so mad at myself.

I'm so sorry. What a hassle. That jerk ought to be reprimanded for lying like that. I'm sure it will all get resolved, but ugggg...what a hassle. If it's not one thing, it seems to be something else with people you do business with these days. Hope things get fixed up soon.

I hope they pay you for whatever damage they've done to your tv. It's a pain to go through the claim process, though. So have patience and hang in there!

take pictures NOW with a date on them, the marks on the box, ect..
atleast you can send them some pictures with the letter, that should help a bit
also, the delivery mans name should help

Getting photos of the box that shows the sensor was cut off is huge. Be prepared, though for the driver to swear it was there when he left it at your place.

What trucking company was it?

I wrote on his invoice that the sensor was missing, and made sure to get several shots of where it was cut off. Just kicking myself for not checking it better when he was here. I'm just far too nice and trusting for my own good :(

If you'd found it while the driver was there you'd still be going through the same hoops as far as filling out forms and banging your head against the wall.

We get stuff in at the store all the time that's mangled . . . some of it's never been replaced, but it's often easier to get it taken care of when it's the fault of the shipping company than when it was shipped out damaged from the warehouse, inside the carton!

Must be Plasma and HUGE...lol.

Wow...sorry it's busted...that's going to be a PITA all around to rectify.

This was my response too! I want to see what a $7000 tv looks like! Does it breathe fire or go invisible? :D

Hope it can get solved quickly. I hate dealing with customer service and such.
