    Yay Innova

I feed it and don't notice any measureable difference in waste. I do feed a little less and they're not losing weight. Energy levels *might* be up. But I definitely feel better.

    approaching an unknown dog...?

I'll just say that this is a question way to complex to try and answer on a bb. Different breeds, different socializations/backgrounds etc. all way in heavily. Experience and confidence are the two most important traits you can have when dealing with the unknown dog. Probably but old...

    The dumb people..

Pretty irresponsible letting a little bulldog run around like that.

    What size?

I like any medium and up, anatomically correct dogs of the bull and terrier breeds.

Do you know what dog breed is the samartest?

    Thanks Julie, that makes sense.

    Funny Dog

I don't imagine it is but it does bring up the point that "just because you can doesn't mean you neccessarily should". Show dog hair cuts crack me up. I always feel sorry for standard poodles with the french hair cut. Here's a big ol' gaurd dog/hunting dog dressed up like figure skater.

Do you know what dog breed is the samartest?

Neko, if they're both yours, how do you come to the conclussion that it's the owner that makes the dog smarter? I think the ability to problem solve is more important when determining intelligence but for training, high drive is by far the most important thing. My pit bull has enormous...

    Dog attack with a twist.

Why? The owner of the dog can't tell that his dog is attacking dogs or people? I don't understand that statement. The confused owner is just that, a confused owner that doesn't understand behaviour and shouldn't be responsible for a breed that requires experienced handling. No one said (at...

Casablanca1, she's Canadian eh. She did manage the SPCA in Salem, Oregon. I was on the phone with her just before I read your posts; I would have liked to have asked her about the legal points. You bring up some really interesting views. Thanks.

    Dog attack with a twist.

BMo'6, Pit bulls were bred to fight dogs. Any aggression towards their handler was received with a bullet. They weren't bred to attack humans. I agree with most of what you're saying but you don't seem to understand the bull dog very well and that makes me wonder about the legitimacy...

I gotta bump this. Sammies Dad, I'm sure the subject you've mentioned will be covered as it's basically the driving force behind the need for this book. The book essentially will deal with behaviours and disprove some of the myths using her research and scientific principles.

    Dog attack with a twist.

In regards to the feral dog subject, I agree that most dogs wouldn't do well in the wild; I just thought it was an interesting study to share.

    Dog attack with a twist.

Hey Amstaffer thanks! I've never won anything of that magnitude before ;) . Busymomof6, no dog should be left with a child unsupervised (I know you know this). These so-called "attacks out of nowhere" seem to happen with all breeds but of course the pit bull's attack is often going to be...

    Dog attack with a twist.

I guess that would depend on the breed. My pitbull would not make it but someone's anatolian shepherd probably wouldn't have too much difficulty. I believe there's was a study that concluded dogs will become feral within 16 weeks of being without human contact. So 15000 yrs of domestication...

    Dog attack with a twist.

PS: The dogs that are mistreated and bite can be rehabilitated but there's not enough people capable of handling those problem dogs so really euthanization is more humane. Now if you could euthanize stupid people that don't treat their animals well...

    Dog attack with a twist.

Because we bred them to work for us and serve us...not attack us (well most of them anyway). As sad as it is to put a dog down, it would be sadder to see that woman's baby dead. Honestly, no matter how bad the training was, a pit bull should never bite people.
