    Pups not eating much?

Thanks, Showpug! I'm convinced that those darned estimates on the bag are just here to make me worry. I'm going to pick up a small bag of Solid Gold food tomorrow. So "Just a Wee Bit" would probably be better than "Barking at the Moon"?

    Pups not eating much?

Thanks for the replies. They're not losing weight. I'm just worried that they're not getting the vitamins/minerals that they need. I think that I'll try a higher kcal/cup food and see how that works. At least they'll get more good stuff packed in to the food they will eat! :)

    Pups not eating much?

I'm have no aversion to switching at all. I just want them to eat :lol-sign: ! I totally agree- their bowel habits seem excessive to me as well. Any suggestions on which food to try? Solid Gold is really all that's available in my area. But which variety?

    Pups not eating much?

The pups will be 6 months on Dec.1 and are being neutered next Friday. They're papillion mixes, and weigh 8 & 9 lbs now. They're on AvoDerm puppy food (~370kCal/cup). Coats are shiny and stools are firm, but they're gassy and have 4ish stools/day So, here's the main problem: The past few...

    Dumpster Dive for your Dog?

I used to work in merchandising, and we had countless resets (re-arranging/stocking for new seasons or new campaigns) where cart-loads of product was to be destroyed. Once, my team and I were assigned to pull all stock of a major brand of shampoo. The labels had been applied incorrectly...

    Collars in the house?

Off Off in the house- when we're home. If we're watching their every move, they don't wear the collars. They scratch and chew at them. When we leave the house (they have access to a doggie door), or they are outside with us, they always wear their collar/harness with ID. I got them the...

? For Couples & Single Folks

For couples: do your dog(s) sleep with you? Yep! They sleep with us on the nights that we're off, but not during the day (we work nights) how many dog(s)? 2 what size bed do you have? King where? in between the two? at the edge? Porkchop sleeps with Paul- usually wedged against...

    Weird behavior in St Bernard-help

Did he spend a lot of time in his crate? He may be stressed out that his "den" is no longer available. Our pups had a few days of acting strange when we rearranged their gated area in the kitchen. They wouldn't eat, and were withdrawn. They perked up after 2 days, though. Hope your guy...

    The Never-Ending Game

^I saw Luke on Petfinder, and fell in love. He and Porkchop were a package deal, so we got them both. They are amazing- we're so glad that they chose us! >Porkchop is sleeping in my lap, and Luke is streched out between me and Paul. \/ Do you think that training/teaching a dog is ever...

    Homeless Animals

Our rescue/shelter babies Luke and Porkchop are 5 month old rescue pups. Their litter was kept in a room with 8 other dogs, including mom. None were socialized at all. Thankfully, these guys were taken with the other pups when they were only a week old. You couldn't ask for better dogs...

    Do dogs think??

I wanted to post this article for you guys- it really has helped me to understand how my pups think, and it's a great reference when all "human" evidence says that your dog in angry with you. Hope someone enjoys it! :) http://www.slate.com/id/2127419/

    Nutro Ultra

I've searched and read through hundreds of threads regarding "good" food. My adopted rescue puppies came to me on Nutro Ultra Small Adult Food. They're 4.5 month papillion mixes. I've compared the ingredients and analysis on Nutro, Canidae, Orijen, and several others. Then Orijen has more...

    Grape Seed Extract

Here's a link from the ASPCA on grapes/raisins. It states that "grape-seed extract is not considered a threat." Hope this helps! http://www.aspca.org/site/DocServer/McKnight-Tox_Brief-Feb_VT_05.pdf?docID=3782

    Dog doors in your opinion...

We really love our door. It's helped us to housebreak the puppies (they're 4.5 months, adopted just shy of 4 months). I am still picking up cues of when they want to go out, but that's an owner problem. :p Since we've started using it in conjunction with the crate, they've not had an...

    Carrots as treats?

Aww... Thanks, guys- I think they're adorable, too! They really are doing well. We're working on "Sit" and they are starting puppy training classes on the 13th. Hopefully they'll be ahead of the curve! Here's a few pics to keep you guys satisfied-
