    How dare they!!

So, in your instance you appear to fall into the first category. If you think people haven't had good experiences and there are not any good cops than your eyes are closed and you are only seeing what you want to see. Sorry you had bad experiences, but not all of us have. Need I remind...

    How dare they!!

You have to realize that anyone who says that they've only ever had bad experiences with "cops", and that they all suck or are bad either has his eyes closed to what's going on and sees only what he wants, or is a person who really has social issues and probably has been less than an honest or...

Woman has 23 shih tzus as pets

I am a mobile groomer, and I groom for one woman who has 12 dogs...4 shih tzus, 4 maltese, and 4 yorkies. When I first got the call I have to admit I was nervous about what I would find. I was pleasantly surprised. The 12 dogs live in a gorgeous house (she's a vice president of a major...

    Matted Standard Poodle rescue

here's an answer This is going to sound scary...but try wetshaving. I've done it and it works. You wash the dogs mats and all and then clipper the coat while the dog is wet. Here's a link to a website that explains it very well http://www.groomingsmarter.com/wetdogshaving.html

Best book about dog grooming all breeds?

I'm sorry, I haven't been here in awhile so just saw this post. It's probably too late now, but without a doubt the best grooming book out there is "Notes from the Grooming Table" by Melissa Verplank. Its sold at Whitedog Enterprises website.

Groomers - do you restrain puppies for grooming?

I have a question? 18 dogs by yourself 1/2 hr each? This must mean that you have someone doing the bathing and drying for you? I know that it takes me about a 1/2 to do a cut, but the bathing, drying etc. takes additional time. I'm just curious, because I cannont imagine being able to do...

Groomers - do you restrain puppies for grooming?

When I do a puppy for the first time, I always tell the customer that the most important thing is for the grooming experience to be as pleasant as possible. I let them know that the first grooming is to get the puppy used to the sounds and procedures that are used during the grooming process...

    Dog killed at the groomer

I am a groomer, and there are some things that I've read that are upsetting. First of all the comment that petsmart will hire anyone who will pick up clippers. That is simply not true and they have very strict safety policies. If you look up all the deaths people are talking about, they've...

AKC and Pet Stores aka Puppy Mill Outlets!!!!!!

And people are so quick to put down CKC (Continental Kennel Club), not Canadian Kennel Club. I find it funny that most BYB and commercial breeders tend to register their dogs with the CKC, yet most puppy store puppies are registered AKC. Come on, can't convince me that those papers are...

dyeing my dog blue need help

sites where someone will help you. You may want to go to www.groomers.net or www.petgroomers.com. Someone on those websites would be able to answer your questions about dying. They are actually very helpful, professional people who are more than willing to help instead of degrade. If you go...

dyeing my dog blue need help

I wish that I had an answer for you. I have died my poodle's tail and ears before, and have made stars on her for July 4th. For one I used chalk, the other I used blo pens (like stenciling). I know that there are dyes made specifically for dogs, so if I was you, I'd stick with those, just to...

    Getting Started

$40 too much I don't understand why you would think $40 is too much to spend, every month on getting your dog groomed professionally. You have to remember they have tools that not everyone at home has, and if you're going to a good groomer they will do a much better job than you could do at...

    dremel

I would recommend a cordless dremel. If the hair gets caught around the shaft it will stop. Some of the corded ones will not...and that could be bad.
