Yep, about a half acre(-ish.) No fence for us. Never outside unattended, with or without fencing. Yes, we walk (though not as religiously as when the weather's nice) them on top of that. Usually everyday, unless it's super windy with the cold, and in that case they're chauffeured a quarter...

When I lived in an apartment a few years ago, I had the same problem. After losing a lot of sleep and/or trying not to be at home during 'happy hour,' I resorted to cheering them on during the act. I went way overboard with it, but it worked almost instantly and gave me and my friends a good laugh.
