I have a few questions. I adopted a 2 year ld english setter mix. She was just fixed yesterday. How much should I let her clean herself? They said that she should keep it clean herself but how much is to much? Also, I can take her for a 15 minute walk cant I? Thanks

Dont give the dog away, it isnt his fault that he was never properly trained. Take him outside when he starts peein on something, and then give him lots of praise. Bring him outside every 2- 3 hours. Remember, your mom didnt get rid of you when you went in your diaper for 2 - 3 years

Well it worked for myself both times my dogs were puppies. I guess just keep the litter cleaner then, scoop the poop everytime the cat goes.

Well hmm...When he goes near it redirect his attention to a toy or food or something he should be doing. Take him away from the situation, maybe keep him in a different room while you are gone so he cannot get to it.

lol, also there is this canned stuff you can spray inside the kongs (like meat flavored etc.) it looks really gross, but dogs seem to try forever to get it all out. If you dont want to do that plain old kongs are good to, well atleast for me. Congrats your dog learning so fast

Just remember to give her time to adjust, and it may take a while for her to learn not to bark so much. Does she has lots of toys? Especially the rubber kongs? those seem to work well with my dogs, it keeps them occupied.

I have also heard that male and female do better together. It really depends on the dog, like if you have 2 submissive dogs, then they will probably get along, if you have one dominant and one submissive dog then they will probably get a long, but 2 dominant dogs really dont do well together...

Well hm..7-8 hours in crate is kind of a long time..I would get bored to and try to escape lol . Maybe give her more things to do, like chew toys (not the edible ones) the rubber ones. That keeps my dog occupied. Maybe put some of the little things around your house, like your tv remote, or...

Well I am adopting a 2 year old white (with a little brown) english setter from the animal shelter. And they gave her a name but she doesnt know it yet and I am going to change it anyways. We like these four names the best : Zoey, Chloe, Lilly , or Lizzie what do you guys think?
