This morning, it took me more than 1.5 hours to commute a 20 mile distance to work! I live in California and love everything about it EXCEPT for the traffic! For days like today, I wish I live in the middle of nowhere where I don't have to endure the daily horrible traffic jam!

So, is there anything you absolutely hate about where you live?

I only hate the street out front of our house. It's a busy Road and no one pays attention to the speed limit.

I can't wait till we move to a house in the country.... other than that I really like it here.

I was going to say the same thing! I live in Orlando, and the traffic is insane. Orlando is in the top 10 cities for the worst traffic... and it's a very small city. It can take a good 30-45 minutes on a good day to go 10-15 miles.

They built a super wal-mart literally in my back yard (we are separated only by a drainage easement). And yes, I was there first. It was a 26 acre field when I built the place.

I don't mind the store so much, but there are always trucks parked overnight (against the posted ordinance) and a group of "yoots" with their fart muffler/fast and the furious wannabe cars doing donuts and holeshots all night. I'm working with them at the district level at this point to get rid of the nuiscances, but it's a PITA.

ETA: The street I live on as well. I live across from the local middle school (6 - 8th grades). It's a 25 MPH zone, but people (including school buses) go through at 40 minimum. Cops do what they can with speed traps, but for every 10 they catch, 30 more go through.

I hate that I live near/work in a college town. Trying to go out for a drink or something is a nightmare because every place in town is packed full of drunken beer-sloshing 21 year olds.

I hate how the neighbors allow their dogs to run loose in the neighborhood from time to time. The pit mix isn't so bad, because she's wonderfully sweet and loves to play with my dogs (but she is intact). The German Shorthaired Pointer isn't too annoying cause she's real sweet and old (10), but Daisy HATES her for some unknown reason so I'm afraid that one day when I take the dogs out back to play I will have a dog fight on my hands (although the pointer stays away from us). The boxer gets on my nerves because she seems to be small animal agressive and has attacked Benji twice (who is a small dog) and Daisy protected him (and kicked the boxer's ass). But God help the neighbor's chihuahua if the boxer decides to go after him...

People can't drive. Every year as the new Freshman and parents come in it turns into a nightmare driving as people get used to the town and do quick lane changes, turns, etc.

But even during the year people still can't drive.

The weather is about my only issue with Vermont. Winters are rough, especially since I work outdoors. But I don't know if I could handle the summers down south, so I guess this is the way to go. Today is amazing - 70, sunny, and breezy. If only it could be this way every day!

I would hazard a guess that a good amount of them aren't actually 21 yet...

I love basically everything about where I live.....except the city went ahead and allowed the field behind my house to be zoned for high density multi dwelling units.....in other words, very tall apartment buildings that will soon be obstructing my beautiful view of the field and creek!

They went ahead and did this even though the whole community was against it!

Arizona - the heat. Ick. Also, in my area, there is an abundance of irresponsible dog owners.

Washington - Honestly? Nothing. In Western WA I suppose it can get a little rainy and dreary, but where I'm at right now the weather is lovely, for the most part the people seem sane and I really like the neighborhood I'm in.

I'm really trying to think of something I hate about here but I can't really think of one thing, well besides our long winter months, and I can't do anything about that.

Everything else is just the way I like it. We live in a small town, in the older section smack right in the middle of it. Because of where we're located we get a front seat to most celebration the town has. We live near a lake, nice walking area for the dogs. We couldn't ask for better neighbors. Everyone seems to take real good care of their dogs. I've lived here almost 10 years and I've never seen a stray dog, only a couple dogs who got out of their yards but they soon were found by their frantic owners.

I work at home so the commute is a few feet away. :p My husband's office is only 2 miles away. I really cant think of anything I hate about this place.

Also, I'm addicted to the coffee from our local coffee shop.

I lived in Maine for 2 years, and the winters were my biggest complaint as well ;)
