Yeah, I would never do that, but at the same time, whenever I mention that I'm contacting breeders for months and months (and possibly a year or more) from now, and how many I've contacted, and this and that related to the process...most people's eyes tend to glaze over and I can tell they're thinking "just adopt get a cheap, easy one." Even my friends who know better sometimes get sucked in when we drive by signs that say "Mastiff puppies, AKC registered, $200." Doesn't help that there are pet stores all over this city
That's terrible! See, I understand not wanting to email bad news, but...it's still gonna happen anyway, so they might as well just do it! It's not like you wouldn't realize in the end that you hadn't gotten a dog
And with the initial breeder emails, more than once I've thought "just send an 'I'm busy but I've received your email and will get to it when I can'" message. Anything's better than silence, just let me know that you actually got what I sent you!
And thanks, I'm super excited...I still keep waffling on breeds (there are a couple gorgeous examples of other breeds I was looking at, walking around near where I work, and they always make me turn my head to look at them, and reconsider...). But ultimately I think I'll be happy in my decision, if this works out.
