I'm so glad I wasn't the only one to catch that, if they don't revisit it it seemed like a pointless thing to offer up. Whhheeeee I'm excited to see what happens with that!
Andrea is totally annoying. I know girls like that that have way too much to prove. However, maybe she'll find her way, I don't know.
I think they're trying to build a turning point for Rick making him more callus, more survivalist (i.e. shooting the guys in the bar) so I am sure one for Shane isn't far off, they can't both be the same character so they're going to have to either flip flop or Shane will have to be more radical (or one will have to die).
Thus far my favorite is still Daryl. Oh and Glenn is one I root for a lot. I cringed and jumped in the bar scene with him. I really like him but he's a disposable character (I suppose they all can be) so it makes his near death parts even more intense. I actually like Carols character, I think it is done well, she's a product of abuse but she has a survivors soul in there somewhere.
I'll be interested to see if we develop T-dog and the other members of the Hersel house or what.
Mostly though I want to see what's up with the no-bites and I want to see something happen to have them leave the farm. Part of me wants an invasion but part of me hopes they'll just leave and I can have this tiny bit of relaxation that somewhere even in that scary world there is a tiny piece of safety. Har Har.
I really feel for Andrea, actually. She has been denied the right to carry a gun several times, despite the other male characters all getting one (including Dale... Who never killed one zombie. Ever
), and has been told off for not doing 'women's work'. After admitting she wanted to die, she was treated like an incompetent child and patronized constantly by Dale who couldn't seem to grasp that ultimately, she is an adult and he has no right to control any aspect of her life. Now this is not to say she has acted like a little angel because she certainly hasn't (her woe is me attitude drove me nuts at certain points), but I can certainly understand where her desire to prove herself came from and I don't blame her.
Oh my gosh I was getting so excited about the prospect of Rick toughening up a bit until this last episode! Last week's episode really built that up with the bar scene, I completely agree. This week though, that image completely fell apart
I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to this new Rick.
I love Glenn, and I actually don't think he is disposable. They spent a LOT of time this season developing his character and there are endless possibilities for how this thing with Maggie could turn out. He is really a character on the cusp of becoming something awesome so I have a feeling we will be seeing more of him in episodes to come
I don't think they are in a hurry to kill him off. Daryl I like also, but he needs to pull himself together. He is having a giant temper tantrum right now imo
I think he is a diamond in the rough and I would love to see him become a little more emotionally stable.
Can't say I am crazy about Carol
Do tell!
I missed this, but they brought it up after the episode, but in the Public Works episode Shane uses his knife to kill a zombie, and then later in the bus uses the same knife to slice his hand open. WHY IS HE NOT A ZOMBIE!
Ok, here goes
WARNING theory below: (I can't take credit for this theory, not my original idea)
Remember when Jenner whispered something in Rick's ear before he died? Well, according to this theory, what he told Rick is that everyone is infected because the infection is airborne and that when they die, they will join the walkers. Jenner took everyone's blood sample, so he would be able to test and see if they have it. This would also make sense for all the times the group has been splattered by zombie blood and guts and somehow avoided getting infected. Those two officers who only had scratches are further evidence that being bitten isn't necessary. Notice Rick didn't really respond when Shane mentioned that "It must only take a scratch...", and, it would make sense that Shane was able to use the same knife to cut himself and the Zs. It also would make sense that Rick wouldn't tell the rest of the group because of the incredibly demoralizing effect that would have. Anyway, just a theory, but certainly an interesting one
If they were going to completely deviate from the comics as they have, they shouldn't have taken the name sake or any of the characters and just created a poorly acted, poorly paced, poor executed zombie story.
Well, it is your opinion it is poorly done. Obviously that is not a unanimous opinion as evidenced by even just this thread alone
If you really dislike it that much, maybe watch something else on tv? Just a thought
