I got home from work at around 1 pm and let Traveler out on the zipline in the back yard and then went back inside. A few minutes later I hear him barking and since he normally is dead quiet when he's outside I went outside and he was over by the side of the house but came running over ready to go inside like normal.
So I get back in and just sit down when Kaylee who is laying in the bay window explodes. Now, she's a barker and is always going off at something but this was different. I honestly thought someone must have been trying to get into the house the way she was acting, she was trying to go through the window. So I get a hold of her long enough to look out the window just in time to see a Coyote butt running away. At first I thought it was a neighbors dog since they are out all the time but nope, that was a Coyote in the middle of the day in the yard.
Once I got the dogs calmed down I had my break down. We get a lot of them at night during the summer so I know the drill and have dealt with them but I never see them in the middle of the day and in winter. Traveler was out, alone, in an unfenced area with a Coyote stalking around my yard and he is just perfect lunch size.
I am so happy I heard him barking. The what ifs were running around my head
