It's official - Smidgen is pregnant, expecting mid-January. :D

And since I'm not well known here, I will go ahead and cover the questions that might pop up: This was a planned breeding and her second litter. The bitch is health tested and titled in both conformation and performance. The sire is also health tested and titled in conformation and performance events. Hopefully that covers it ... ;)

Are you expecting all smoothies or a combo?

Is there a noticeable difference in coat length if you breed a rough to a smooth? As in, does it mitigate the rough coat to a shorter level or are there simply "rough" and "smooth"?

It's a smooth to smooth breeding, and although the sire is rough factored, I'm pretty sure my girl is pure for smooth (and smooth is dominant).

With Collies, they are rough or smooth - there are no "tweeners". :) Actually, I've seen some of the heaviest coated roughs ever come from smooth to smooth breedings, so there is no way to tell! It's all in the genes for coat factor.

And another pup, at a week old ... this is Figment, the sable headed white (spitting image of her sire), from the same litter. I love that little heart on her thigh! :D

OK, I'll post some pics from another litter for you.

This is Dora, the pup I kept from her previous litter, at 3 weeks. She was very mouthy and is still very pokey with the snout.

Did I say "was" mouthy - here she is as an adult biting mom in the butt. I guess I should have said "is". :rofl1:
