I think that's from Leviticus, in the same passage most people cite when railing against gay marriage.

I believe in something... I just(as so many others) hate the way people use religion to hurt others. Let god be the judge of what people do/think... that's not our job!

also, man is falible, man wrote bible(even though he got the message from god he still wrote it), therefore the bible is falible. Not saying it's wrong, just that you can't go around throwing bible quotes to prove your right to do something. If you have to prove it... it's probably wrong!

That would go for both sides of the debate then lol. If we can't quote the bible to "prove our points" than those who don't believe in God shouldn't quote them to try to discredit our Faith. :D What's good for the Goose is good for the Gander? lol

I've also seen - and heard - this one used to that purpose, time after time:

(2 Corinthians 6:14 KJV) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Only the first part of the phrase, though, since if you read the entire verse it obviously has nothing whatsoever to do with gay marriage

Hmm that scripture that was mentioned where was it in the bible? I would say that would mean to let your yes be yes and your nos be no. Don't go back and forth kinda thing. Let your foundation be rock solid for example. Let God be the center of your life not just a part of it. I don't know; thats what it sounds like to me. Reminds me of where the seed was sown.

I would agree on the abuse thing; of course God would not be pleased if a man abused his wife and well that man would have to answer to God. The woman has every right to make sure she and her children are safe.

You know I being a Christian do not go to church. I read His Word all the time and feel very close to Him. When ever I try a new church I always walk away angry or sad. Exactly; don't look at anyone to see what or to hear what Christianity is all about. Read the bible for yourself to find out. Please look at it as Word from our Father as instruction to His children. Not just as any other old book. And take time to really think about the message.

God does say that unfaithfulness is grounds for divorce.

God talks of being a jealous God when it comes to idols. The reason for this is that idols can bring up false gods which do exist. Satan does exist and so do the fallen angels. Those people that go to churches that are "healed" by being smacked in the face or claim that the healing is from angles is not God at all. It is a different god. You find that when you look at scripture. For this reason is why God tells us to judge within the Church. But judging outside the church; no way, thats for Him. We must judge inside the Church to keep away from false prophets and deceivers. I mean God does talk of many antichrists besides just the AC thats later to come.

When you live in the Bible Belt you hear all sorts of nonsense.
Oh, indeed, but I think I missed that one. I'm just scratching my head trying to figure out where that interpretation comes from . . . other than the despirate burning need to discredit gay marriage with people who already oppose gay marriage of course!

As defined by a self-proclaimed jealous god. And when has jealousy ever been an admirable - or godly trait? We typically regard that as a character flaw at worst; a sign of weakness and insecurity at best.

Not only is there the "no other gods before me" passage, but these as well:

Exodus 15:11 "Who is like You among the gods, O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?

Exodus 20:23 You shall not make other gods besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves.

Deuteronomy 6:14 "You shall not follow other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you,

2 Kings 17:35 with whom the LORD made a covenant and commanded them, saying, "You shall not fear other gods, nor bow down yourselves to them nor serve them nor sacrifice to them.

Jeremiah 25:6 and do not go after other gods to serve them and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I will do you no harm.'

Jeremiah 35:15 "Also I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, sending them again and again, saying: 'Turn now every man from his evil way and amend your deeds, and do not go after other gods to worship them. Then you will dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your forefathers; but you have not inclined your ear or listened to Me.
And - supposing these gods do exist, who is to say whether or not they are false? Perhaps the god pointing fingers, jealous and insecure is the false god?

Or perhaps those are the words of insecure and jealous theocrats?

They assume that those of us who don't oppose gay marriage are stupid.

And, of course, you have to consider that ignorant and desperate people do and say ignorant and desperate things.

Well , my prayers were just answered .....my wallet with all contents were found by the side of the road .
Thanks be to God!.

I see no point in debating about whether or not God exists because for someone whose life has been touched by God, or those who've witnessed many of God's miracles in life, it's impossible not to believe in Him.. There is no way one can convince me that God does not exist - because to me, it's just simply not true. God does exist - I know it first hand, because I've seen His works in my life. I've had many conversations with Him in prayers when I seeked for His guidance & I got it. I've been picked up & cradled on his arms when I was down. He's cared for me, protected me, guided me, answered my prayers times after times, and His presence is ever by my side.

For those who've not (yet) believe, I can't convince you otherwise either. Faith is very personal & it must be caught, not taught. Knowing all about God & the ability to recite Scriptures are knowledge, not faith. For a person can be taught all s/he cares to know about God, yet do not believe - and another can be completely illiterate & have a bestest kind of relationship with God & prosess a deepest & strongest faith in Him. I do, however, pray for you continuously that one day, you'll be able to experience God's love & presence in your life - a love that is unlike no other, and a presence that is the source of all strenghs. A comfort beyonnds measure that from that point on, you just cannot imagine your life without.

^^^^ Faith and prayer ! Odd thing though , the only thing I discovered missing is my driver's license ! The slot for it is on the outside and it was hard to slip out . I've checked with the boy who found it , and he didn't see it when he picked up the wallet .
