I took the Zing for her first lesson on sheep yesterday! We did just a quick evaluation to gauge her interest. She was interested in the sheep, not overly excited about them and a little on the "what the heck are those huuuge fluffy things?!" side. The trainer was actually happy with that because as she put it, it's easier to put the chase in the pup than take excessive chase away and if Zinga was inclined to chase sheep at this age she would be overly inclined to do so as she matures. Our training plan is to take her once a week or so to hang out with the sheep until she "wants to go to the rodeo" as the trainer puts it. At that point she will be taken off of herding until she matures. The trainer is guessing about 6 weeks or so, looks like I will get covered in sheep poo and pee a lot more in the next coming weeks!
