they help recruit for more aggressive groups like ALF & ELF. they have produced hate literature similar to the National Alliance (white supremists in WV) that basically preaches violence against hunters, trappers, medical researchers & every level of the meat industry. when people associated w/ ALF & ELF have been arrested for terrorist acts like arson, violent assault & death threats, PETA has ponied up for their legal defense expenses.
they aren't dangerous because they're smart or organized but because they are idealogical fanatics. it's only a matter of time before we see a vest wearing suicide bomber entering a research facility, furrier, hunting, trapping or ranching convention to take out as many "animal oppressors" as they can.

Frankly I'm surprised we've not seen this already. Sure they've burned animal testing facilities and what not but I don't think there's been any kamikaze attempts yet.
