If in a life or death situation, would you save your pet or your spouse? Just wondering. My husband says I would save my two dogs ;)

I will to try to get all of them but my babies would not know what to do. My husband will. I think anyway. :D

Steve's an independent, survivor. I don't know what I would really do but I tend not to worry too much about him. Of course I would be devastated if I made an assumption that had a bad ending :(

Don't have a spouse. :) But if it was between my boyfriend or a close friend, or my pets.. I hate to sound so self-centered but I consider my dogs to be better friends to me than most people. If it had to be one or the other, no exceptions.. I'd take my dogs. They're family to me.

Maybe I will feel differently if I get married, lol.

Ok, I have to be realistic, since I have two dogs over 100 lbs. One which weighs as much, and one, almost as much as me,(which will eventually weigh as much, if not more than hubby) and a small one. I really need hubbys help. So I need him to keep it together.lol
In all honesty, I think I would just start grabbing, and pulling to save them all. If people were near me I would start yelling for them to help me. In a life or death situation I wouldn't be proud. Just help me to save my family, that includes my dogs. I don't know who I would grab first. Probably the one that looked like they needed my help the most, then the next, until all were saved.

I thought of this many years ago .... all of us upstairs with one way down. I planned to stick the kids first out their windows to the flat roof below them and if there were dogs there too, shove them out. Hopefully my husband at that point would be in on the action , if not I'd try to call the dogs who hadn't followed and if they didn't show up , shove the husband out and try to find the dogs. If I couldn't I'd get out and help the kids and dogs off the flat roofs. Thank God it never happened.

Well I have to be perfectly honest. I love TEddy. VERY much. BUT if it really came down to the wire and I could only save one and they were each as helpless as he other, I would have to save my husband. Yes TEddy is my pet and my best friend but my husband is my life partner, he will be my childrens father, He is my life. There is no question what I would do in that situation. I would miss Teddy greatly but I know he would understand. HOPEFULLY it never comes down to anything like that EVER. Although i suspect if there was an emergency Brian would have to save me not the other way around lol

Sparks19,I know what you mean. In reality, Keith and the dogs, would probably have to save me. I am the one who is the clutz in the family.

My wife, of course.... I would be scared of any person who would think otherwise. I love my dog more than most people... But, I could get another dog, I cannot get another Tanya.

Yea me too. My husband would have to come first, along with my children.
Then I would do anything I could to save my four legged family.
But same as Sparks, If it was an emergency, I would imagine Hubby would have to save us all. LOL (unless of course he is sleeping then I would have to wake him up with a quick blow to the head. A very sound sleeper you know.) Then I would quickly tell him what he had to do to save us all. :D

not married,...but i would have to say my boyfriend...

especially since oakley and i arent that 'close'...i rarely get to see my doggie...and, exactly like puckstop said...as awful as it sounds...dogs are much more replaceable than humans (hehe, its a whole lot harder to get close to another human than it is to a dog!)
