Roxie's most common nick name is "Roxie-Poxie", variations of that (Rozzer-Pozzer, Wasky-Pasky, Wazzie Pozzie Poo).

Or Rocky/Rock. I also call her Bubbs an absurd amount of the time.

Emily is very rarely called Emily. I call her Emma most often when speaking to her and when I talk about her I call her Em. My aunt calls her Rosie since her full name is Emily Rose. She also gets various forms of Rosie such as Rosie Olie Olie.

Pirate, Bayleigh, and Penny aren't called anything other than their names. Well, unless Buttface, Muttface, Stupid, Dummy, Mutt, Baby, Buddy, Bubba, etc count.

Oh, Penny is called Grandma's Girl a lot by my aunt (who calls herself the dogs' grandma even though Penny is her dog, not mine).

Bear usually gets to keep his name, but is sometimes just 'old man' or 'eeyore'

Pig is actually Pixel. I hardly ever use her real name. Actually almost no one does. Different people that interact with her have different names for her and she responds quite well to all of them. So she's Pig, Pickles, Princess, Pixie or Pix depending on who's talking to her. She also gets bizarre name combinations like picklepotamus, piggles etc.

Badger is just Badger. Or Ears. Or Badgears.

I only call Bogart by his proper name. It's about the only dignified thing about him - and I expected dignity when I got an Akita. Family and friends are happy to call him "Bogie," "Boge," "Bogie Bear," or "Bogie Wogie." He finds these amsuing. I  lol

Josie gets called a lot of things. The same people who say "Bogie Wogie" call her "Josie Wosie." Sometimes it gets shortened to "Jos." I tend to call her "Fiend" or "Fiendish" as much as, if not more than, her name. But then, her full name is "Josie Fiend." When she pushes her way in somewhere, I just say "Hey, Jealousy" (nod to my fav band). I refer to her in conversation as "The Pirate," but I never call her "Pirate." (she only has one eye)

I need to try to make a signature so Josie is visible, too.

Journey is most often called Jelly Bean. Or Jelly Belly Bean haha. Poor girl. And, I have no idea why, but I've caught myself saying "hey kiddo" to her several times when she comes over for attention lol. Eventhough I don't refer to my dogs as kids. It just sticks for some reason. I also call her just Journ way more often than Journey. One of my friends' husbands calls her Jervis... no idea why though.

Dance pretty much gets called Dance. She used to have more nicknames, but for some reason they've faded out. I do call her Roo fairly often though, or Dance-a-roo.

Keira is usually Keeks. Or Ki. Or Kiki Dee. Very rarely Keira.

Ripley is usually just Rip. Or Buddy. Or Doodles or Doodleman. Or Ripley Doodles haha. Not very manly. Other people just tend to call him Big Guy (or Rip).

Summer: Dum Dum, Dumb dog, Dummer Dum Dum, or even worst Dummer Dum Dum Dumbest Dog haha. My dad always gets on to me for calling her Dumb Dog etc. He says she's sweet and I need to be nice. My trainer and my sister both call her Sum Sum which is weird.

Mia: Mia Mia Mia Mi <--- yeah I dunno. Kiddo, Kid, Misa Mi, Best Dog, Fart, Fartface. Mia almost gets called Misa more than Mia which is weird because the only Misa I know of was a character in a show whom I hated. I can't remember my trainer's nickname for her. It had something to do with her being tiny and it was cute. Ahhh I can't remember. Emily calls her The Alien. 'Oh hi Alien, how are you?' She says Mia's mothership will one day beam her home. Our old dog sitter referred to her as Satan. Lovingly, I might add. My last agility instructor referred to her as Bratface or Brat-Monkey. We may have a bit of a reputation.

I guess the best nickname case is Nard. No one EVER calls him anything but Nard. Sometimes the Nard or Nardo or Nardish. No one ever calls him BERnard. When we first got him we tried to nickname him Bernie. Totally didn't work with him.

I took great care in picking Fable's name and all, but when I want to play with her and we're being crazy it's way more fun to say, "Fabeeellllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnaaaaa!"
What people think is weird about calling Millie Mimi is that it can have any amount of syllables as I want., i.e. "Mimimimimimimimimimimimimimi!"
Yes, I often act like a fool when I play with my dogs.

Yes. Loathe her. My sister yells at me for calling Mia that but it's just a habit now.
LOL, me, too. I kept hoping she would end up being a casualty.

ETA: Nard is the best nickname ever.

I can't even count how many times people say 'Wait, his name is really Bernard?' :rofl1: Poor Boy.
Seriously. If you had commented on a thread and said something about "Berndard", I would have had to stop for a second, and I don't know that I would have pieced together who he was. XD

But I guess that's a lot like my childhood pittie. His name was LK, but for some reason after he was a few years old we all just started calling him Buddy

I had a few friends in high school who would come over and I would eventually call him LK for something and they'd be like "Who? I thought his name was Buddy!?"

Nope. :p
