Well, here's my little bit of levity. You know you're a new dog owner when.... (and feel free to add to it :D )

1) You smell more like your dog than he/she does
2) You put your hand in your jacket pocket and there's dog treats inside
3) You put your hand in your other jacket pocket and feel a plastic bag (stoop & scoop)
4) An exciting afternoon is going to the pet-store to by your dog a new toy
5) You haven't been to a certain store in a while because of their 'no dogs allowed' sticker
6) Your most recent greatest acheivement is having taught your dog to roll over or sit or lie down or what-ever you're currently working on
7) You put more thought into your dogs diet than your own.
8) Your child/children do something really good and you automatically say 'gooood boy/girl'
9) The last time you had more than 1 beer while out with friends coincides with when you brought your dog home

Hope you all enjoyed :D

When it's time to run errands, you struggle to not go to the PetStore to buy your dog or cat a new toy or treat.

When you go somewhere that you can't take your dog, you worry about her the entire time you are gone. "Is she crying for me?" "Does she miss me?"

Bonding with a dog

You know when your dog and you have bonded, like me, When I let Mitzi
take all the blankets. It's important she's warm, even if I'm cold.

you get more dog hair out of the dryer lint trap than lint
(I already tried this on the "The person below me" forum but I don't think the person below me did much laundry - lol, just joking :D )
