Neo you know people on this forum. You've been here awhile. It sounds like you got caught up in the moment but you are bordering on out of line. Everyone here except the occassional trolls care about dogs. I, also, sleep well at night. All four of my dogs are rescues. They would probably all be dead if I hadn't adopted them and most people here have either rescued or gone through reputable breeders.

Do you not sleep well at night because of all the children that are abused and starving in the world? Or because of the wars that go on? You can't single handedly change the world and not taking care of yourself isn't going to help. We do what we can because that's all we can do.

Now take a break. You're not thinking clearly.

I could feel him hyperventilating though my monitor screen.....:yikes:
I could feel their breath on my neck! >@.o<

Why should Blue feel guilty about anything? He's not contributing to the problem. None of us who DO rescue dogs and are responsible pet owners should feel horrible all the time about the ones we couldn't save. All we can do is rescue as many as we can. It does us no good to beat ourselves up about not adopting the 200 others that were at the shelter that day. Do you REALLY do that to yourself every day?! >o_O<

I totally understand what Neopit is saying and I don't see any intentions of him/her pointing fingers at anyone on the board. I understand how upset and crazy it can make you to see constant ads for "mixed poos and designer mutts". My mom had a Cockapoo back in 1965 who was a nasty son of a ***** so even back then there were alot of unstable BYB dogs. They had to get rid of him because he would bite the neighborhood kids (remember no leash law back then either). Quite frankly I am disgusted with this country and its ignorance and un-ethical breeding that goes on. I expect dog over-population in a third world country but not here in the U.S. where Spaying and neutering is common practice and there is LOADS of education out there as well as low cost S/N. Unfortunately, it will never go away there will always be BYB's, puppymills, and the uneducated who think that just because there dog is cute it should be bred.....Oh and I also don't feel guilty :D I've owned my share of rescue dogs and have been "trying" to educate people about being responsible for years so I sleep well at night to ;)

Are you really going to leave this forum because of this thread? No one said anything rude or mean to you at all... the majority (99%) of the people on this forum love dogs, and have no reason to feel guilty about the puppies bred by BYBs because they are not the cause of this problem. Most of the members on here are involved with rescue, or have rescued animals at some point in their lives.

Your post came off really strong and did not apply to 99% of the members on this forum... the problem is with craigslist and puppyfind, and all of these websites that are havens for BYBs. Not the Chazhound members. If this post was worded differently (i.e. the title changed from "You are practically killing dogs in the pound" to "BYBs causing dogs to end up in the pound," your responses would have differered tremendously).

I really don't think that you should leave over this thread. I know how frustrating it is to feel like you can't do anything about these horrible breeders, but threads like this aren't going to help the problem.

No kidding.

I'm sorry, but, now YOU need to take a deep breath and step down from your pedestal.

Done, yet?

Gooood.

Now, ranting to us really doesn't do anything because no regular, posting member of Chazhound breeds doodles, diddles, whatever you may wish to call them. A large majority of us actually rescue, so her rant and tantrum and then the verbal assault of a moderator was completely unnecessary.

See, what it comes down to is people make ASSumptions. They don't know any facts, they just take one event and run with it...they make spectacles out of themselves and claim to be doing good when they are making themselves out to be, well, for lack of a better word, hmmm, a little on the crazy side.

We all rant every now and then-sometimes it feels good. But, we should all work on taking those energies put into ranting by doing SOMETHING POSITIVE with them. Say, for example, volunteering at a local shelter, educating others in a peaceful, calm manner about these gag-me designer breeds. You see, actually DOING something is better than a verbal rant.. because we here at Chazhound have heard it all before and we see it quite often... so... lesson learned, right?

Let's move on now. :)

Sorry but when did I put myself on a pedestal or rant at anyone? Can I ask how you know that I dont do something? I actually do quite a bit so arnt you making ASSumptions about me?

On the fact that people on here have heard it all before - do I take it you never have new members join or guests just browsing through?

What I was trying to say as in my previous post is that on the one hand people are saying dont rant at us or be rude to one of us and on the other ranting right on back and being rude and that maybe a bit of understanding wouldnt of gone amiss.

I repeat from an outsiders point of view Blue's post could of been seen as lacking in caring.

Now excuse me while I try and get my butt back up on my pedestal.

Goodness. My post was not directly aimed at you... no where did I say taratippy this is all about you.. it was to everyone.

And just for good measure I'm going to quote it. My new comments are in red.

No kidding.

I'm sorry, but, now YOU need to take a deep breath and step down from your pedestal.

Done, yet?

Gooood.

Now, ranting (I should have said Neo's ranting to us... sure, you used a few !!! but it wasn't nearly as loaded as Neo's comments) to us really doesn't do anything because no regular, posting member of Chazhound breeds doodles, diddles, whatever you may wish to call them. A large majority of us actually rescue, so her rant and tantrum and then the verbal assault of a moderator was completely unnecessary.

See, what it comes down to is people make ASSumptions (Neo made a horrible assumption about someone when she had no grounds for it at all,, 'nuff said) They don't know any facts, they just take one event and run with it...they make spectacles out of themselves and claim to be doing good when they are making themselves out to be, well, for lack of a better word, hmmm, a little on the crazy side.

We all rant every now and then-sometimes it feels good. But, we should all work on taking those energies put into ranting by doing SOMETHING POSITIVE (meaning instead of her ranting, she could use those energies by doing something positive like the things I mention here) with them. Say, for example, volunteering at a local shelter, educating others in a peaceful, calm manner about these gag-me designer breeds. You see, actually DOING something is better than a verbal rant.. because we here at Chazhound have heard it all before and we see it quite often... so... lesson learned, right? (The thing with ranting on Chazhound is that sure, some 'guests' will see it, but Chazzers take the full brunt of the attack (and as previously displayed a mod) when we haven't done anything wrong. So, yes, others see this and what exactly do they see? A young child making an incredibly heartfelt rant.. emphasis on young child and rant.)

Let's move on now. :)
This isn't even taking into account that I agree with her. The people out there shaming dogs, hurting dogs, exploiting dogs.. for money. It's disgusting. I can only do so much, though. Blue can only do so much, Jessie and all of the others who have rescued or contribute to rescues somehow can only do so much.

When a relatively new member (Neo has only been here for a month) makes an attack without grounds.. well, she's going to be called on it. If she is able to dish out a can of worms, one would expect she can handle a few squirming back at her. *shrugs*

Chazzers do not turn a deaf ear to the horrors of puppy mills, BYB's and the millions of animals in shelters across the world. Really, we don't. But, there is only so much that we can do.. there are only so many lives we can help a time. And I won't apologize for that... I have my two boys and they mean the world to me.. I know for a fact Buddy would have died without my adopting him and Banzai.. he would have eventually found a home, but he's in mine.

What more can anyone ask of me? I mean, really. I donate items and time to my local shelter, I want to bring home at least one dog or cat every time I go to a shelter or visit petfinder, but I simply can not. This hardly makes me a horrible person.

As for you, taratippy, I apologize for my pedestal comment.

I thought you where leaving??

Either way, I can see how blue's comment would be seen as rude. I can see how he meant it also. Your responses where a little overboard rude, especially now. I believe you are too young to be on here anyways, so ..... there's not much to say about it.

There's no need to become irrational or upset.
If you want to leave, that's fine. I think I agree with Breeze and BabyB, that if you want to, maybe you should come back when you're of age to be on here.
