wv mining tragedy

I just heard on the news that only one miner survived the explosion. When I went to bed last night I thought they said that all 12 were alive? Does anyone know anymore about this or am I going crazy? Thanks.

their was a miscommunication apparently -- the official release never stated they were alive. They figure people picked up the conversations on radios/scanners and than used cell phones to call people to let them know.

News articles everywhere were first saying they all survived than later on when the official news release was let out it was all but 1 survived.

Sad deal and I feel so sorry for those familes. I can't imagin being told yes they are alive to no, only 1 survived. Poorly handled, but with so much technology out there, it's hard to keep anything a secret nowadays.
