My grandma's poodle, Roxie, had heart surgery when she was a pup. She has never been a real big eater, but every now and then (usually once a week now) she will eat nothing but grass until around evening hours when we can finally get her to eat a meal. You can look at her and tell she feels terrible but then she gets better??!! Please help is this normal or should she go to the vet?

It's not "abnormal" for a dog to skip a meal or two, especially in the heat of summer. Just like us somedays they will have a ravenous appetite and other days just feel like picking at the food. As long as her weight is stable and she isn't skipping a ton of meals she should be just fine. Always remember you can call and ask your vet without having to bring the dog in, that is what they are there for!
