YEAH !! My little Abby is so much better tonight. She is moving around, eating, and even crying to be held. For the first time since I brought her home She is active. My questions is how are roundworms transmitted? From dog to dog, and even dog to human. I gave Abby a kiss, and she licked me, then I thought maybe I should be a bit more cautious. My vet said my other dogs should be okay because they are on heartguard. Now I'm wondering about myself and kids. Anybody know?

Roundworms are usually transmitted by fecal injestion. So... if your dog licks her butt, then kisses you... it could happen. Or if there is fecal matter on her paws or fur that gets transferred to your hands just before you eat those chips without washing up...

Hygene is very important, as roundworm infestation in humans can lead to blindness.

Never heard of roundworms leading to blindness. Time to get dewormed I guess! LOL
Round worms are transmitted from fecal matter and from mother to baby thats why is imperative to de-worm your dogs frequently and spray your grounds with something to kill the eggs that are in thier feces.

Actually, it's pretty common. While roundworms usually stay in the digestive tract with dogs and cats, they migrate within the human body... and frequently end up forming cysts within the eye.
