I received this email today even though I haven't fed Timberwolf in a LONG time.
I wonder what it means. I smell BS, does anyone else?

"Dear Valued Timberwolf Customers,

During the course of the past few months, Timberwolf Organics, Inc has gone through a re-evaluation process with our production facility, ingredient suppliers and all other facets of our business and have started a ‘Back to Basics’ campaign. We feel that we have strayed from our goal of providing the highest quality pet food available. We have rededicated ourselves and will honor this commitment to our loyal customers.

The most important change we have implemented is our transition to Triple T Foods and CJ Foods. Both are former and current producers of many name brand pet products. We have partnered with both in order to bring our customers the most consistent and high quality pet food we have ever made and to ensure adherence to our formulas. The changes Timberwolf Organics, Inc. has made are designed to regain our position as the leader of the Ultra-premium pet food category. In addition to changing our production to Triple T and CJ Foods, we have changed ingredient suppliers to provide us with the highest quality and freshest ingredients that Timberwolf customers demand.

As many of you are aware of, commodity prices have increased to record levels in the past year. These increases have affected every area of the manufacturing process from the cost of raw materials, price of transportation and even the price of the bags the food is packaged in. For example corn and soybeans prices have risen to all time highs. While, we at Timberwolf, do not use corn directly in our products, corn and soybeans are the primary feed for chickens and other animals we use in our formulas. These higher feed costs have driven the cost of our meats and meals up significantly in the past year. These extreme changes in ingredient pricing have affected Timberwolf just it has it has affected everyone else. We refuse to compromise on the quality of our ingredients though some other companies claim to use ingredients such as ‘roasted venison’ or ‘smoked salmon’ and knowing the raw ingredient market, we are surprised that their retail selling price is at or below our COST of ingredients for the same size bag. Either they know a supplier that we don’t, or aren’t being completely truthful with their ingredient listings.

We refused to consider selling a cheaper product so the only option was to raise our prices to remain the best premium supplier of pet food and provide our loyal customers the quality they demand.

We hope that you understand that we have tried to hold off as long as possible and that this decision came with much resistance. To ease some of the burden of the higher prices we will be offering promotions and coupons from time to time to reward our loyal users. Please check our website regularly for any news.

The new pricing structure for our online ordering will be effective Friday, September 12, 2008 at 5:00pm EST.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions feel free to email us at [email protected] or call us at 407-877-8779.

Sincerely,

Mark Heyward
