I don't know AKC, but the UKC is easier I'm sure. With a rare breed like hers, she can win 25 points per show (4 or 5 shows per weekend). That's 10 points for her class, in this case female, unfinished, between 6 months and a year. Then 15 points for best of breed, which comes automatically because there's no competition.
She needs 100 points, which she basically gets for showing up, though the judge can and will withhold those ribbons for the only dog if they think she's not worthy.
So she got her points, oh and they have to be from different judges too which they were, but she needed three wins against competition. Since there were no other HWVs in the shows, she has to get those in the gundog group. She must place in the group over another dog and that counts as a competition win.
This is where she really did great. There were seven breeds represented this weekend in the gundog group, and Winnie placed 2nd, 3rd, 2nd and 2nd in the four shows she was in. The first place in the group all four shows was a Springer Spaniel who went on to win Best in Show twice.
