Will Canidae make my large breed puppy grow too fast?

When i get my Dogue De Bordeaux pup i want to feed him Canidae, however, will it be to nutritious for him and make him grow too fast?

I know i have posted a ton of food questions but i really want to make a good choice for my new pup. I want to do everything i can to reduce stress on his joints. and i think that the best way to get info on dog food is to get opinions from real people, not vets or the people at the dog food companies.

You should be fine with Canidae since it is for all life stages. My new pup that is a little over 7 months and already over 102 lbs. eats Canidae. I give the regular formula and they have also come out with a Chicken & Rice formula, both for all life stages. I also own 2 other large/giant breed dogs that are on Canidae. I think you are making a very good choice with this food.

CANIDAE® All Life Stage formula is formulated to meet the AAFCO Dog Nutrient Profiles for all life stages.

During Lactation and Puppies up to 6 months old, require twice the amount of food as an adult dog and they should be fed 3 to 4 times a day. Puppies six months to a year, twice daily.

Any food will make a puppy grow too fast if you feed too much of it. Simply picking one formulation over another isn't a safeguard.

However, as an "all lifestages" formulation, Canidae is fine to feed to a large breed puppy. If you feel insecure about this product, check out Eagle Pack's large/giant breed formulas. As far as I know, EP is the only company who has done extensive research specifically on large breed puppies.

Canidae is a very good food. My dogs are on it. If you follow the feeding guidelines on the bag than you should be ok feeding it to your large breed puppy.
